Occidental Nuevo Vallarta - All Inclusive

Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and the check in process was quick and easy! Our rooms were not ready as we arrived very early but no worries as we had full use of the hotel grounds while we waited. We can’t rave enough about the food! Every single restaurant was delicious and the amount of food you receive is incredible. The buffets change nightly and there is a nice variety of foods. We never had to wait long to get seated. At times we did need to wait for refresh of foods but there were plenty of other options while we waited. The optional restaurants can be used every 3 days of your stay. Kind of a bummer as they were absolutely delicious. Make sure to book these right away as they fill up very quickly. We had the best staff service throughout our entire stay. Shout out to Nini, Jose and Jesus for providing us with great drinks, laughter and outstanding bar service. Nini and Jose were our pool wait staff and they made sure we never had an empty glass. Not only did they perform their jobs - they went above and beyond making sure we were taking care of. Jesus was so accommodating as I continued to give him new drink recipes. After day 3 he was making up new drinks for us to try. He always had a smile on his face, a nice word to say or he was normally singing! Entertainment was wonderful. May it be the pool time fun such as trivia, cornhole tournament or the pool party - We had a blast. We attended a few nightly entertainment events and they were great. The Micheal Jackson tribute was very good! The beach is safe and clean. Yes- there are local vendors but they are very gracious and leave with a simple - no Thank you. Our room was a nice size. We had an ocean view. I would say it was more of a “partial” ocean view. Probably my only -slight complaint. The balcony is large and worth the price. Water pressure, in the shower, is amazing and we always had hot water. Our rooms were very clean! This is a family friendly resort. They have a small kiddy pool with a couple small slides. The pool is a good size but not huge. We never felt crowded but we don’t feel it was a very busy time of the year. There is only 1 extra bar area vs. the pool. They do have several TVs but it did get crowded at night. It is not really a “sports bar” so if thats your thing you may be disappointed. We loved to end our night there to relax and enjoy a great drink or two. Tips are optional but like any other service based establishment they are welcomed and very appreciated! 10/10 and would definitely recommend to others We will be back!!!

We loved the atmosphere at the pool. Our server at the pool was Jose Flores and he was amazing!!! Service was excellent… thank you Jose!!!

Guest greeter, concierge, room attendant, doorman, or a friendly gabber… Whatever roll is played nothing but top notch, guest oriented, service matters PEOPLE at Occidental Nuevo Nayarit. ARMANDO was the go to person during this visit. Not only did they have suggestions on activities/places to go outside of the hotel but they also genuinely inquired about the stay at the hotel as well. Whether coming or going they always had a smile and I look forward to seeing that familiar face and others when I return. Regarding the hotel: the Barcelo line of establishments are always my go too, they never disappoint in cleanliness, customer service (the people are the best), amenities and for the price (oh, my gaw- too good)! PLUS, the locations always have the best beach service and vibes! The room was a 4th floor Royal suite and the view was amazing! The noise level it was a corner room so no complaints- outside hotel activities go til abut 10-11pm Remember it’s vacation for you but a normal day for the hotel so be gracious and enjoy your VACA!!

Just finished our 11 day vacation here - Great resort. Would come back. We didn't get the royal level, although we were with friends that did. However since we all had young kids (between 4 and 7), we were in the main pool all the time anyways so honestly we didn't feel like we needed the Royal Level at all. The buffet was great - what a vast selection of food every night. The a la cartes were also wonderful. Our kids are not picky eaters so it does make it easier for us when travelling... but I wanted to mention the chef at the Japanese teppanyaki restaurant was so amazing with the kids and playing with them the whole time (sorry I forgot his name, but I remember he said he looks young for 47... so look for that guy haha). The kids LOVED the shows - they even had dedicated kids shows on some nights including Little Mermaid and K-pop Demon Hunters. Kids club was also appreciated. We didn't want our kids to just play video games while in Mexico, so Nancy the kids club supervisor was so accommodating and was making sure our kids played outside whenever possible. Jose was always attentive around the pool, as were all the other servers. The activity team - Eva, Ricardo, Armando, Lewis, were always keeping all the guests happy with games and sports galore. They even have a weekly foam party... you guessed it... the kids loved that too! The servers at all the restaurants were also top-notch - too many to name. I don't know why anyone would complain about this place. We mentioned that my husband has allergies, and they right away were able to help us with a room that had better air circulation. And how can we forget the beach.... SOOOOO NICE!!! That sand is so soft on your feet. If you are a parent wondering if this is a kid-friendly place.... it is! We just returned from a 2-week stay at the Occidental Nuevo Vallarta. It is a very good resort, at a great location on Banderas Bay. Our room was very comfortable, with a nice soft bed. Great shower with hot water and lots of pressure. We were on the ground level, right by the pool, so we were concerned about noise. But it wasn’t a problem at all. They do play music (quite loudly) at the pool, but we spent all our time on the beach so it wasn’t a problem. The nightly entertainment was also very loud, but they shut down by 10 pm every night. The only minor complaint we had about the room was the air conditioner was quite noisy when it first kicked in, but it worked! The best part of this resort is there was lots of room on the beach and never a problem getting a beach chair. The pool looked like it was always full, but we never sat by the pool so I can’t answer to how hard it was to get chairs there. Another great thing this resort has, is a trained falconer at the outdoor buffet restaurant! The falcon kept all the pesky blackbirds from stealing your fries! Genius! I wished more resorts would have this! Food was mostly good, the typical Mexican buffet food. The 2 a-la-cartes we went to (Asian and Italian) were very good. We did not go to the Mexican restaurant.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would absolutely recommend it. The staff truly made the experience special — especially the bartenders Jose and Nina, along with the rest of the pool bartending team. They were fabulous, attentive, and genuinely friendly. They were a joy to chat with throughout the day and somehow always remembered our favourite drinks, often bringing them over before we even had to ask. Their warmth and energy really added to the relaxed, happy vibe by the pool. Armando from the activities team was another standout — super fun, engaging, and full of energy. He made the activities entertaining without ever being overbearing and was always smiling and welcoming. The hotel itself was very clean and perfectly sized. It was small enough that everything felt close and convenient — getting from the pool to the beach was quick and easy. The beach itself was wonderful: beautiful, relaxing, and never felt overcrowded. The food was very good overall, with lots of variety. The buffet had a lot to offer and there was always something fresh and enjoyable to choose from. The staff at the Mexican à la carte restaurant were especially lovely and welcoming. As someone with celiac disease, I was very impressed with how attentive and accommodating they were to my dietary needs. I felt safe, well taken care of, and completely comfortable dining there. Overall, a fantastic stay with excellent service, great food, a beautiful beach, and a warm, friendly atmosphere. We would happily return and highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent resort, friendly staff, very clean accommodation. Royal Level Restaurant staff, Antonio, Danna, Tito. Maisol were excellent. Would return to this location for another vacation

This a good 4 star with some 5 star amenities. Overall the room was good even though a drawer handle was hanging off, and the shower temperature was impossible to adjust either too hot or too cold ,would not stay consistent. Did this wreck my vacation? NO. Good food ,great staff, gorgeous beach,and premium drinks. Royal Level is the best option, entertainment was not the best but adequate for a smaller resort. Will return.

This was our first family vacation at an all inclusive resort and I feel like it was a good pick. We have zero complaints. The room did smell a bit musty but I feel like that comes with the humidity. It was clean, spacious and comfortable. The pool and beach were great, the food was good and there was lots of variety. There was enough for us to do, depends what you’re looking for.
