The staff have been great except for a few and the hotel is very nice and close to everything market on beach near and can barter

This resort was Excellent! Terrific location, accommodations, food and facilities. We would love to return and do it again! Our only problem was that we went there for a 5 night a "Kovay Vacations" club presentation that we had paid $460 US and booked 6 months prior. After flying to Mexico and arriving at the resort to check in, we were met by a vacation club agent "Alex" who said our pickup time would be the next morning at 8am for breakfast and then the presentation which we said would be great. He then asked us if we had any other plans. We said yes, that we had booked online before the trip to attend the "Alma" dinner show but it would be hours after the 8am presentation. He immediately cancelled our hotel reservation and said we had broken the agreement. This was shocking and a complete surprise. I had a copy of our signed "terms and conditions" that did not have any restrictions for us booking reservations for shows or activities while in Puerto Vallarta. But he would not even look at it. We then had to pay on the spot for our own new hotel reservation and we are out the $460 we had pre-paid. We were completed cheated by Alex and Kovay Vacations. So if you are there for a similar presentation, beware...

Loved the door key bracelet. TV not user friendly. A/C easy to control. The lounge chairs are very nice. Need food variety. No face cloths. Shower head wouldn't stay in place. Nice location.

We just finished two weeks of our fourth visit to Occidental Nuevo Vallarta. As always, we had a wonderful time. The staff is always extremely friendly and polite and always willing to help in anyway they can. We love this resort for so many reasons. We love the long beach that you can walk on for hours. We love the quiet area for the First Club and the First Club pool area is peaceful and relaxing. Thanks especially to the staff at the first club pool area for keeping our glasses full and for keeping smiles on our faces. 🍹🍷🍻

Last week we spent a week at Occidental in Nuevo Vallarta and had a great time. The resort was a nice size and easy to navigate. We really enjoyed our time. We had a wonderful couples massage during our stay. We would definitely go back again to visit.

We had an excellent stay! Everything from check-in to check-out was seamless with no issues. The staff were courteous and very accommodating. The buffet offered great variety, and the facilities were clean with plenty of space to relax—even during the busy season.

Overall I had great trip for a smaller resort. The room was very clean and the shower was amazing. The friendliness of the staff in the buffet and a la cartes need improvement however I found the food to be great everyday. No one was rude but not many of the staff greeted you with a warm smile. The quality of entertainment was pretty poor at the night shows. All considered though, this was a wonderful trip and I would still come back if I want a quiet, low key holiday.

Great resort for the family. Food and area are outstanding. Rooms are clean and quiet. Would recommend.

The food was very good. The room was small but adequate as we did find enough spaces to store the suitcases.We enjoyed the specialty restaurants where the service was much better than in the buffet area. Check in and check out worked well. The main issue was the noise in the restaurant and around the pool. We even met a couple who were leaving early because of the noise.
