Regalia Hotel & Conference Center

Would I stay here again? In short, no. The pictures listed online are clearly outdated. The Regalia looks beautiful online with it's front fountains, contemporary style, and modern look/feel. That however is not the reality of the property. Everything is outdated. The fountains outfront are empty and just look like giant holes. Elevators are slow, hotel doors making noises when you open them, or the mechanical device that unlocks the room don't work altogether. When we arrived we were placed in a room on the first floor. When we came back the first night after being out late we found that our key card would not unlock the door. We had to track down the night front desk staff, Jesse, who was appalled that we were placed in the room to begin with because it is 'well known that room 1024 has issues.' He could not get into the room with a master key card and had to break into the hotel room though the sliding glass back door (thankfully we forget to lock it) to get is back in. We were told to come back in the morning to get a room change. I came back in the morning and spoke to a front desk attendant who was less than helpful. It felt dismissive and all she did was remake the key cards and said she will send maintenance down to have it looked at. He came, said he would be back and never came back. We waited for an hour and finally gave up. We went back and talked to front desk staff, Rachel, who remedied the situation by putting us in another room.

The hotel is an old facility that looks to be going through a painful remodel. It is supposedly a resort but there isn't much there except 2 pools. One is inside and just looking at the overall condition of the concrete decking made me question getting in the water. The outdoor pool has a swim up bar and occasional concerts but weather conditions when I was there were not conducive to doing the pool thing so I can't say much about it. Not much else going on. There's a small coffee shop and a bourbon bar open (?)Thursday through Sunday. My room was large enough and bed was comfortable but the room wasn’t really well furnished. No chairs or tables except for the night stands. The refrigerator was actually a wine cooler. There was a console under the wall mounted TV but it had no drawers or even shelves. The closet was on the small size with few hangers so in reality there was no way to unpack. Staff were friendly and responsive to questions. Check in and check out were quick and efficient. The overall price with room rate, taxes and the $12/day resort fee made the price too high relative to overall product. The hotel sits within a Housing area of villas, condos and patio homes with beautiful landscaping with lots of wildlife so taking a walk every morning was quite relaxing and enjoyable.

Indoor pool wasnt working. Room doors were problematic. Outdoor pool electrical system was sketchy at best with no efi's working. Long extension cords ran around the pool to power fans. Rooms were pleasant.

Pros: #1. Staff was friendly and accommodating. #2. Rooms were clean. Cons: #1. Organization was totally dysfunctional. May have been new management. #2. Music at pool is deafening. It was difficult to converse with the person next to you. In my opinion, music should be for background, not overwhelming. Selection was mediocre at best. Not everyone has the same taste which is more reason to lower the decibel level. #3. Ice machine didn’t work. However, you could take the elevator to another floor (see below). #4. My wife was stuck in the elevator for a chilling 45 minutes. Luckily she had her cell to call me. I informed the front desk who sent maintenance armed with screwdrivers but lacking knowledge to attempt to pry the door open. Someone googled the solution releasing my wife. She was terrified the elevator was going to crash to the lower floors. After freeing her “Out of Order” signs were posted on the 3rd floor but not on the 1st, 2nd and 4th floors. I assume they now wanted to show off their new rescue skill by trapping a new victim. #5. They have an excellent breakfast buffet but fail to advise you of it when checking in. I didn’t see it on any promotion or signage as well. We found out by accident. I went down at 6:30 and was told service began at 8:00 (seems a bit late but again my opinion). This hotel was fabulous! It was clean, up to date, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. There was a game area my teens enjoyed, as well as the amazing pool area. This was by far the best hotel we've stayed in all summer!!

The only working pool was the pool shared with the community where children swam with no supervision, adults were being *intimate (tasteless) in the pool, no food, no drink allowed, plastic cups and beer bottles laid around the pool deck (there is a swim up bar), and the young bar staff were tastelessly showy. There was no restaurant on the grounds. The inside pool and jacuzzi are not in working order. Hotel room was clean (all except the coffee maker which had gross standing water in it), but not the common areas. They have three bar areas, which only the cigar and bourbon bar was up and running. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, it was hot and fresh (unfortunately the AC was not on in the eating area). This hotel has great potential, it would be nice if they advertised correctly.
