Angleterre Hotel

Excellent location across from St Isaac's Cathedral within easy walking distance of the Hermitage, the wonderful Russian Museum, Admiralty, Nevsky Prospect and the iconic statue Of Peter the Great. Very helpful staff.

We were there 6 days and enjoyed our stay to the fullest. One of the stops of the Hop-On Bus is at St. Isaacs, right in front of the very helpful Tourist Info kiosk. The hotel concierges were amazing--they made restaurant reservations and arranged some private tours for us, including behind-the-scenes tour of Mariiensky Theater. (We are seniors.) It's next door to the Astoria but so much more relaxing.

Perfect for sites . Go up on to the colonnade in St Isaacs cathedral to take your photos of the town and get your bearings . It is outside the front door after all .

Hotel is just next to the st. isaac's cathedral. The hotel will charge for a Registration fee for registering your passport! They didn't tell us about this compulsory fee during my check-in, but asked me for the payment without explanation at my check out.

Good value for the location. The room not luxurious, just adequate. No coffee machine in room which I find strange for a five star hotel, even in Russia. Also toiletries pretty basic. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

This was a great choice that we ended up being very pleased about. The location is super. The hotel has a fancy feel, though the accommodations are actually modest. The room had everything we needed in a small space, and was well thought-out, especially considering that this is an old property that was apparently totally retrofitted to be a modern hotel. The breakfast was outstanding, under the watchful eye of Oksana. The front desk was very helpful, as were the bellman staff, but the concierge staff was weak (short on knowledge, short on patience, short on staff).

Our stay at The Angleterre Hotel couldn't have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived the staff greeted us warmly and were attentive to our needs throughout our stay. The twin room was a good size, the beds very comfortable and the bathroom modern and sparkling clean. The breakfast buffet was so varied and delicious that we couldn't get bored even over eight mornings. What really makes this hotel the best choice in St. Petersburg is its location. Situated right on St. Isaac's Square, we were able to walk to all the major sights or to take trams right outside our door. We were so happy that we found and booked this hotel. We felt completely comfortable and at home there. We give it our highest recommendation and would gladly stay there again.
