Angleterre Hotel

This is famous old hotel brought up to date. Stayed in classic room with paid the rate to include breakfast. Amenities in the room were slightly below 5* standard and the price bracket paid. Small but welcome pool and sauna, which we had to ourselves in the early evening. breakfast good, but could have been better vegetarian offer.

I cannot fault the service here. Every single member of staff provided superb friendly professional service. They could not do enough to make my stay perfect. This is the best hotel I have stayed in, in Russia.

Once again, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, from Reception to the Concierge to the Restaurant. The hotel loses one star for the rooms, which are a bit old and tired, but the value is very good, the location brilliant and the staff are on a par with the very best in Russia, and pretty much anywhere else. Hope to be there again soon.

ultimately the best experience of all my hotels in saint petersburg and one of the nicesiest in europe; the service and personnel are spotless, very friendly , courteous, very upscale; hotel has beautiful bars and restaurants, + the proximity to best landmarks make it a gem

The hotel was a old but clean. Easy walking to attraction and city centre. No free WiFi in the room but available in the foyer. Cafe attached to hotel good food and price.

My one major qualm with this hotel is that the photos on the website made it look much more chic, but I think it was shabbier in person. The beds were rather hard, and overall the room was a bit stark. The front desk staff were pretty friendly, some much more helpful than others. They happily arranged tickets to the opera and the ballet, as well as dinner reservations. I found the breakfasts included with our stay were FABULOUS. The Happiness Cafe, which is attached to the hotel is also a wonderful cafe.

The staff at the desk was super - they enthusiastically helped with all of my requests (dinner recommendations, walking directions, etc.). I was very satisfied with the service at the hotel and the location was great too!
