Location was beautiful and food and drinks were wonderful, pool was clean and no problem at time of our stay obtaining sunbeds

Disappointed by staff except cleanliness that was very good

There were several members of staff who genuinely stood out and made a real difference to our stay. Mario, Jayah, and Alison were consistently helpful and attentive, and Roshida at the Cove seemed to be everywhere at once, always willing to go the extra mile. The kitchen staff also did an excellent job preparing the fish we brought back from a fishing trip, creating a couple of truly memorable meals. A real highlight of the stay. Bar service itself was generally quick, and when things ran smoothly, the resort had the potential to be very enjoyable. :( Unfortunately, it’s really difficult to recover from a bad first impression, but it’s impossible to recover from a bad last one. We were told there was no fixed checkout time on our final day and that it would depend on room availability. On the day, we were told we needed to vacate the room, as the hotel was fully booked (the first lie, as it turned out), but we could use the spa facilities to shower before leaving. Fine. I reconfirmed our taxi. When we returned to reception to collect our luggage for departure, one of our bags had been lost; taken to another guest’s room. Although it was eventually recovered, it set the tone for what followed. The taxi was late, and when we raised concerns about our flight, we were reassured with great confidence not to worry as the pilot for our flight was staying at the hotel and wasn’t leaving for a couple of hours yet, presumably forgetting that pilots don’t go through the same baggage and security processes as passangers. Eventually, we discovered we were booked into a shared taxi at a different time with another group and finally left the hotel well past our expected departure. Instead of simply being told earlier that the taxi time had changed, we were allowed to believe for nearly an hour that we might miss our flight. By the end of it all, reception managed to achieve the rare feat of being less useful with staff present than it would have been without any at all.

Unfortunately, this level of disorganisation was not limited to departure day. Service throughout the resort was consistently inefficient and often felt as though staff simply didn’t want to be there. We booked an exercise class one morning and arrived 10 minutes early, as instructed. Ten minutes after the class was supposed to start, the instructor still hadn’t appeared. We eventually gave up and went to breakfast. Another ten minutes later, he walked past us and asked if we still wanted to do the class. No — we were on holiday, not on standby. Ordering drinks from loungers around the pool regularly took around 30 minutes, despite plenty of staff being present. Bar service itself was quick, but lounger service appeared to be more of a theoretical offering than a practical one, with staff generally gathered at the bar rather than circulating. The resort itself is tired and in need of maintenance. Beach shade awnings were “under construction” for the entire two weeks we were there, with no visible progress. The main pool was closed for a day for maintenance. Our room had a broken window and a missing pane, neither of which were addressed during our stay. We visited two years ago when the hotel was first taken over and could already see what needed attention back then. Very little seems to have changed since, apart from the addition of two more years of wear and tear. The rum and food tasting while good, was overpriced for all-inclusive guests, especially given the general consensus that rum doesn’t pair particularly well with food. We had the added bonus that one rum was actually just tea, as they had a photoshoot the day before. We took it in jest and it was replaced, but a bit embarrassing for the host. While some individual staff members were excellent, the overall issues with communication, organisation, and maintenance significantly detracted from the stay. Addressing these fundamentals would go a long way toward improving the experience for future guests.

The property is very dated, scuffed furniture and floors. Leaking pipes and condensation. Checking in was very prolonged took over 2 hours.

The property, was clean, exquisite and very comfortable. We had the most incredible time on our honeymoon and our butlers were fantastic. A massive thank you to Neil, who was so lovely. All the staff were so friendly and made sure our stay was perfect. The all inclusive options were fab, even for vegetarians, although I would say a few more options are required. The cocktails, champagne and drinks were perfect and the bar service always kept us topped up. We absolutely loved the authentic Caribbean food and would definitely advise having more options for this available. Phenomenal hotel overall. Thank you to everyone that made us feel very welcome.
