Beautiful setting and friendly staff. Quiet and peaceful, but convenient driving distance to Sienna and Florence. Wonderful stay.

Could not have been better. Why stay in the big crowded city when you can experience the fantastic countryside and only have a short drive to the city.

I LOVED this hotel!! Its 1000 years old yet you get the modern day conveniences (nice bathrooms, comfortable beds) with a rustic feel. The grounds are perfectly groomed, breakfast is good and they make a perfect cup if cappucino. You could not ask for a more friendly, pleasant and helpful staff. This hotel is in the country but is conveniently located to all the surrounding towns.

The old castle is inviting despite its hard surfaces. The rooms are spacious and uncluttered, the beds excellent, and the views uplifting. It was a perfect base for a few days of exploring Siena and the surrounding countryside.

We arrived on Saturday evening to be told that there had been a double booking and they blamed Expedia. The receptionist told us that she'd tried to call my mobile but had been unable to get through (however I'd had no missed calls or Voicemail messages). Given that we booked in late July and arrived in mid-September, it is inconceivable that this couldn't have been spotted weeks before and resolved. As it was, she'd waited until we arrived to try to find an alternative for the first couple of nights which turned out to be a self-catering apartment at the end of a roller-coaster track into the wilderness; not the four star hotel we'd booked. After two days we were accommodated back in the hotel and were promised that they'd make it up to us (however we saw no evidence of that). Our room was in the roof and although the receptionist did promise to get our bags placed in the room she admitted that she'd forgotten. Although there was a lift to the first floor, the access to our room was up a further narrow staircase. She was unable to lift the cases herself and there were no other staff that could help it would seem so I had to lug them up myself.

Went there with my family had a lovely time. Beautiful hotel and lots to do in the area but a car is a must. Staff were helpful & friendly. Pool was amazing but cold. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent access to Tuscany. Close to San Gimignano, Sienna, and other must see locations.

Good. Was a wedding reception one night that also meant local restaurant closed and some noise till 11pm, but hotel arranged change of room for night, booked another good local restaurant and arranged taxi

A wonderful place to stay it was such a pity we could only stay one night. The views over the magnificent Tuscan hillsides we especially memorable. I would recommend this hotel for everyone.

This place was beyond beautiful. The grounds are filled with roses and other flowers that make strolling around the hotel a very fragrant experience. We were able to enjoy their wonderful pool with a view. Our room was wonderful and had an amazing view of the sunset over the rolling hills of Tuscany. The only down side is that the breakfast was an additional 10 euros (we didn't know) just keep that in mind!
