Relais Castel Bigozzi

Love, love, love this place! We arrived at night and could not wait to see it in the morning. Very charming and met all our expectations for a Tuscany castle. Rooms had a lot of character, grounds were beautifully kept, views amazing! Lots of old world charm. We can't wait to go back. Nice pool area as well and great location for Siena and Florence. Vittoria and the front desk staff could not be more helpful...very friendly and had great suggestions! We did not want a modern hotel for our trip, so this was just what we wanted.

While the weather did not exactly cooperate enough with us so that we could enjoy the lovely pool, our stay was very enjoyable...

Good location; beautiful building and outside view; room was large but mattress was like a board.

Owner and staff are Wonderful, helpful in any and every way possible...we loved the place, very beautiful surroundings.

The hotel is a little remote from Sienna and San Gimignano but it is perfect if you have a car and want tranquility. Service is excellent, the hosts are very friendly and they helped us find restaurants and they gave us tip for our visits. The only bad thing was that we heard a noise during the nigth from the room upstairs. We strongly recommand this place.

The hotel is located in a beautiful, quiet location overlooking the tuscan hills. The suite was very nice and even had a loft. I thought the breakfast could feature more fresh food, but is was adequate. My only complaint is the lack of staff after 8 p.m. It can be rather dark on coming back to the hotel in the evening, especially, if there are not too many clients that evening. I think in all the areas we visited, this hotel is beautifully situated, and also close to many other interesting cities and towns.

Got to the hotel in the pouring rain, unpacked bags. Hubby went to lie down on the bed and water was dripping on him from the ceiling. Repacked bags, moved to another room that was much larger, unpacked bags. Soon realized there was NO toilet seat! One was on order, but not expected for a week (got it two days later). Definitely low season, front reception seemed to be staffed a few hours in the morning. At all other times, one gent who spoke no English was on site. Could not ask him for help making reservations, exploring area, etc. Had to ask for toilet paper twice during a four night stay. Did not replace tissues, toilet paper when used. In-room wooden "safe" is not bolted to anything. It is small and someone can very easily pick it up and walk away! Only one restaurant nearby- food good, but not inexpensive. Might be better when it's high season and more staff available. Nice setting.

The staff is friendly and the breakfast was delicious. The views from the castle over looking the country side were just beautiful. It was a great place to relax with friends after day of sight seeing. Had a wonderful time and plan to come again.

Nice Hotel, you relax straight away. It's easy to find and only 15min from Siena. You need a car to get around, or they can organise a driver for you. It was so peacefull and quiet. They don't do dinner, but there is a restaurant in the small village 5 min walk away.

Lovely setting. Had to wait for an hour to get into room which was disappointing. Swimming pool needed to be cleaned more regularly
