"Great tuscan experience"

10.0

My husband and i didnt expect much from this place before we got there. But to our pleasant surprise, this place was beautiful!!! Its location has a a typical tuscan backdrop. We drove around alot and saw where other hotels were, they were not half as gorgeous as bigozzi. The staff was helpful and gave us direction to this restaurant, Indios, the food was jus amazing and many local dined there. Its only 5 mins drive away. Breakfast at bigozzi was quite disappointing though. There were no eggs, which was a big deal for us because we dont eat any of th deli cuts they served for breakfast. Despite that, i still love this place!!

"Excellent"

8.0

The Hotel was clean and quite, we were one of the two gests, setting was very Tuscany among the olive trees and the building is from the medieval times. Continental breakfast was below average the staff we met Emma and Anthony were courteous, very nice and helpful. The local restaurant chef Lassars whom we met was also very nice. Room and the bathroom were clean and the beds were ok. Very nice setting quiet and peaceful, we would come back.

"If you want to get away from the big city"

6.0

I was not told to expect too much of Italian hotels prior to this trip and that is exactly the same type of expectation everyone should have prior to arriving at this hotel or any Italian hotel. The amenities were adequate. The bathroom was clean. The bedroom was a bit "rustic" but I think that is the atmosphere the hotel is trying to maintain. It was a good thing that we decided to check-in at this hotel during the day because it was a bit hard to find. We enjoyed breakfast time the most at this hotel. The view wasn't spectacular, but it was very peaceful and relaxing having breakfast overlooking the rolling green hills.

"Great Location - Very relaxing"

8.0

We spent 9 days in Italy and stayed in 5 different hotels. We really enjoyed this hotel We drove a car and had GPS and it was very easy to find, even in the dead of night with it being dark. The hotel staff left an envelope with our info and a key at the front door since we arrived after dark.....that was a very nice welcome and it made things very easy. The bathroom was really nice and modern with cool "earthy" touches and since this hotel was in the country that was fun for us. The bed was really hard.... the room size was nice. The breakfast was great and the location of the breakfast was amazing with rolling hills as your view for as far as you could see....the location was remote and quiet but it was a short drive to many of the places that you would want to see while visiting the Tuscany area. They recommended a restaurant down the hill (walking distance) in a little town...the restaurant was charming, the service good - slightly understaffed for the amount of people eating there, we had to wait a long time - and it felt like once we didn't order a lot of food they were upset and gave us worse service......, and the food was wonderful!!! but the price was terrible!! Way over priced....it was good, but not that good! Back to the hotel, the owners are wonderful - cute young couple - the price was fair - it was fun to stay in a castle. We'd recommend this to others!

Beautiful grounds..which you can purchase their olive oil. Stunning mornings with the best breakfast. Tranquil pool area. Stunning views. Each room is unique and very authentic. Great service. Secluded feeling but a small village down the road with one general store and the best restaurant you will ever eat at.

"Relais Castel Bigozzi"

10.0

Just retuned from Tuscany and the Castel Bigozi was very nice .Good locaton if you have rented a car to make it your base for exploring the Tuscan region. The grounds were well maintained and the view was spectacular. Antonio was an excellent source of information about the town and region. If you are wanting WIFI in your room it did not work very well.

"Beautiful scenery"

8.0

Pros:beautiful Chianti area- breathtaking views; friendly service; easy drive to San Gimignano, Siena, Radda etc. Cons:airconditioner did not work (on the other hand low temp was very cool in end June and the hotel provided us with a fan - big open windows & fan was very pleasant). Ps: you have to have a car to stay here

"Good - but not entirely what I was expecting"

8.0

We stayed at Hotel Bigozzi for 5 nights. Its was a charming place set on a hill with a great view. Mostly I was satisfied, but unfortunately I had expectations that were not exactly met. It is classified as a Agricultural Tourismo property, and I had done some research and talked with people who had stayed in similar properties who said great things about them. I felt that this hotel did not meet the criteria to be one...they are supposed to be 'working farms, wineries, ect. This is only a hotel - there is not much interaction between the staff and guests. Don't get me wrong, they were friendly and took good care of us. I saw some brochure that they do produce olive oil, but we couldn't see any evidence of this except if we wanted to buy a bottle. So I was a little dissappointed in this respect. It is a good hotel (not fancy though), good comfy bed, nice common areas, a decent breakfast (not the best I've had, not the worst). Pretty setting, great view, beautiful building. There are a couple good restaurants close by, especially liked the little butcher/deli that was in the next village. There is also a little "Coop Shop" at the bottom of the hill where you can buy snacks, water, wine, ect. Nice and convenient. Also a great location to do day trips to the hill towns - a little far from Orvieto though.

"Gorgeous!"

10.0

Absolutely breathtaking view! The hotel was beautiful and the surrounding were amazing. Great place to go and relax. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was on location but for the rest of the meals we had to drive about 15 minutes into town. If you want to relax and unwind this is the place to go!
