"Overall good the only thing if it was mentioned that all activities are in main building. Otherwise it was good experien"

7.0

Property was clean, staffs were friendly and helpful. Would also add Mr. Paul shuttle service was good too.

We stayed in Bayshore, there were no microwave , would be good if there is microwave, vending machines in common food area in the building as we had troubled in heating milk, food items for kids. We had to go to pavilion main entrance and there were no microwave too, we asked reception desk and they helped in heating kids food. It was little trouble especially in this regard as kids sometimes may get stomach upset if they eat cold food. Would be good if it was mentioned clearly that Bayshore building will not have any reception, vending machines and microwave. Was it mentioned earlier than we could have planned accordingly! Thanks

"Definitely not a 4 star resort!"

2.0

I recently stayed at Deerhurst Resort in the Bayshore building with my family + baby, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing overall. First, the hotel feels extremely dated - not sure how it’s a 4 star. The rooms in the Bayshore building are quite old and in need of renovation. While I will say the beds were actually comfortable (contrary to many reviews I read beforehand, so perhaps they’ve been replaced), most other aspects of the room felt outdated. The TV was not a smart TV and did not have Netflix or any streaming options. The shower was also very difficult to turn on and operate. There is ice luckily on the 4th floor. There were also almost no basic in-room amenities. Surprisingly, there were not even wine glasses in the room. Everything seemed to just be a challenge; we expected at least some convenience. Traveling around the property in the winter was also inconvenient. From the Bayshore building, it’s about a 15-minute walk through the snow and cold to reach the main areas, and the shuttle only runs until 6 PM, which makes evenings especially difficult with a baby. Hopping in and out of the car to check in and then go to the pool, etc was exhausting. Dining options were extremely limited. During our stay, almost everything was closed — even the coffee shop. There was only one restaurant open on the property. Breakfast there was actually quite good and the service at breakfast was friendly, but overall the food options were very limited. If you’re staying here in the winter, be aware that most food delivery services like Uber Eats don’t operate in the area, so you really need to plan ahead for dinner. I also visited the spa for a massage and found the facilities very dated and underwhelming for what is supposed to be a resort spa. The pool was okay but nothing special. Service throughout the stay was inconsistent. At the bar, I ordered a dirty martini and asked for it to be extra dirty. After asking a couple of times, the waitress responded by telling me that I should just order olive juice instead of a martini, which I found quite rude. Another major issue for families: there are no microwaves in any of the buildings, which is incredibly inconvenient when traveling with a baby. I have a one-year-old and needed to warm milk, which became a daily frustration. The fridge in the room was also extremely small (not an actual mini fridge) and had an exposed heat plate on the back that could easily be dangerous for small children. I was also celebrating my birthday during this trip. Unfortunately the stay was so boring and disappointing that we asked if we could cancel our second night and receive a refund so we could leave early. The hotel refused twice. Even after Expedia contacted the managers on our behalf, they would not make any exception. They did offer to move us to a Pavilion room, but it only had a parking lot view and we had already paid extra for a lakeview room, so that option didn’t make sense for us. What made the experience most frustrating was that management would not show any flexibility or attempt to resolve the situation. We felt the room could easily have been resold, but they simply repeated the same response instead of trying to help. Overall, this resort might be nicer in the summer when more amenities are open and the lake activities are available. However, during the winter it does not feel like a four-star resort and is not good value for the price. Because of the lack of support and flexibility from management when we asked to leave early, I would rate this stay 1 out of 5 stars. while I understand I booked through Expedia and the reimbursement options are much more limited, Expedia was more than willing to assist- while Deerhurst was not helpful at all. Just because I book with another method doesn't mean the same quality and customer service concerns don't exist or should be addressed. We are very disappointed because we travel very often and have at least one family trip away from the city a month and this was something we looked very forward to returning in the summer. I even spoke to the manager on site and said that I will be proceeding to contact her office and leaving a bad Google review and she did not seem to care. I hope that you revisit a lot of the things in the future so that guest can have better positive experiences.

"Nice weekend with family"

8.0

Our family - two couples with 2 kids each ages 3 months, 13 years, 8 years and 21, visited deerhurst in early March. We reserved a lakefront villa (I think that’s what it’s called) with 3 bedrooms, 4 beds, a large kitchen / living room area and lake view. We loved the room! It was large, clean and well oriented. The beds, linens and pillows were comfy and so were the couches. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking our breakfasts and dinners. The large table was great for meals and playing games. The only aesthetic thing I thought was odd and bothered me the whole time was the choice of wall art throughout the place. All European street scapes - bizarre. Some landscapes, trees, lakes, wildlife - would suit much better and create a better vibe. I have more Canadian wildlife art in my living room than this room did throughout. We hoped to use the skating rink and hike around but the weather had been too warm to skate and too rainy (and slippery because of the snow melt) for walking around - luckily we loved hanging out in our room. A few from our group went and checked out the Beerhurst event - which they really enjoyed. Will return again.

"Nice time away but feel we paid for activities we weren't able to use."

8.0

2 bedroom lodgings were nice to share with another couple. Nightly resort fee should have been reduced/optional considering that at this time of year, outdoor activities weren't all available or appropriate for us.

"Not worth the price of accommodation."

4.0

For the price we paid for a room - they are very tired. We had room 1-105 Our coffee maker was broken, we had no glasses in the room, the bathroom sink was clogged and drained very slowly, there were stains on the rug, the sliding glass door was very difficult to open and close, and there were no pant hangers in the closet. There was no maid service (we were advised later that it had to be requested - but we were not informed about this when we checked in.) Without the maid service - we ran out of coffee, clean towels and the hand soap. We were at the hotel for a much publicized weekend with hundreds following the schedule. There was no accommodation made for having lunch on the Saturday. Our schedule only had a 2 hour period for lunch. The ONLY place that was open was your very small pub - and that had at least an hour wait on tables. You should have anticipated that we would want to have some lunch - and at least open something that we could have a bite. The coffee shop was consistently running out of sandwiches - so the kitchen had not been prepared either. Our experience with Michael Smith and his team from PEI was Amazing – your team left a lot to be desired. Don’t think we will be back again – even for Michael Smith.

"Will try to take some grandkids next winter, they would love all the things to do"

9.0

Lots of activities to do for adults and kids, some at no charge

It would have been better to book a room at the main pavilion, Much more convenient than having to drive or walk when going to dinner, or the pool, etc. First time visiting, so we didn't know. Next time will book in the main pavilion. Building we were in had very narrow hallways, nothing of a lobby and no services. Nice view of the lake was very good though, so that helped
