Marriott's StreamSide Birch at Vail

The manager who manned the front desk was very accommodating.

So if I were here during ski season this room would be fine, it's well appointed and clean. however, it's summertime, and I have no balcony to enjoy the morning coffee on, or an afternoon cocktail... and my view is a parking lot, although I can see a mountain over the other buildings and the lot. This was a return stay, as Marriott gave me a "deal" if I'd come back to consider buying into the time share. That isn't happening as I'm not impressed overall. IF you stay here, demand a room with a mountain view and a balcony, at least the view.

Great location & property.

Vail is incredibly beautiful and the StreamSide Birch at Vail is no exception. We found the property pretty dated however with no A/C, and older design.

This property was a great value- they had everything you could need in the kitchen (tools,etc- we could have used more salt and pepper); there was a frequent, easy shuttle to the ski resort; parking was plentiful and close to the unit, climate control in the unit was excellent; the pools/hot tubs were wonderful/clean; the staff were friendly- I don’t see why we would stay anywhere else next time we are in Vail

We had a great time, even though the Internet for the entire went down 1/2 way thru Harry Potter. Front desk agents were nice & efficient. But the BEST was Pedro, the maintenance guy who helped us figure out the Murphy bed, and the TV. He was sweet and patient and solved our problems quickly. I figured the coffee maker out myself.

Sitting atop a 6 lanes of freeway traffic, this is the worst Marriott Vacation Club property I have stayed at in 30 years of ownership. Noise from the highway means you cannot talk on the phone or listen to the television at normal volume when the door/window is open. No air conditioning forces you to open the door/window. You're forced to make a choice between air or noise. Even with the door open and fans running, it was virtually impossible to get the temperature in the unit below 86 degrees at 10:00 PM. Other buildings in this property have problems as well. Marriott should be embarrassed to have its name on this property and should remove it from their inventory.

We have stayed at many Marriott Vacation Club properties. This property was not built by Marriott, but was purchased from a prior resort (to increase their footprint at Streamside), so it is not to Marriott's standards. Which I knew when we booked this so was not a surprise. We had a 1 bedroom, for 2 people was OK but the bathroom is very small. We stayed in summer, note the building does not have air conditioning. If I was staying here to ski I would ask about storage for your equipment as the 1 bedroom does not have storage in the room. We stayed in another building on this complex last summer, we had trouble with the gas grills at the other building last year, and the grills were not working this year by the Birch Building. This is an OK place to stay with great access to Vail (they have a shuttle) and to the Safeway across the highway, but be prepared it is not up to Marriott's standard if you stay in the Birch building.
