It’s more of a 3 1/3 star then 5 star, it needs refurbishing

ADVANTAGES: 1. The hotel is located in the very center of Copa Cabana beach and provides to the clients chairs and towels. 2. The breakfast is superb and served in a nice restaurant in the first floor. 3. The staff is friendly and willing. 4. The rooms are big, comfortable and generally clean, except of the cases they forget to clean. DISANTVANTAGES: 1. The hotel is old fashioned furnished. 2. The swimming pool is very small for a 5* hotel of that size. 3. The 2nd day of our staying our room hasn't been cleaned at 3!!! in the evening. 4. Our room was always dark and because of the luck of sun humid!!! 5. Our group had an awful Christmas dinner in the hotel in a quite depressing atmosphere with no music and a small variety of bad quality food. Some things were leftovers of the breakfast. It was disappointing, because they didn't even try to make a proper holiday dinner. Of course the responsibility could be of our travel agency, but the hotel shouldn't accept anyway

I don’t understand how this hotel can have so many good reviews. For me it was one of the worst Mariott experiences ever due to the following reasons: - Hotel is extremely outdated and old and looks more like a 3 than 5 star hotel - My room was very humid, stinking, old and the bedsheets were yellowish - Corridor on the 9th floor stinks terribly. Somebody must have puked there and they never properly cleand it up - Their ATM has a 26% exchange rate surcharge which I find completely ridiculous/unacceptable - I asked the reception whether they could borrow me some pliers as my credit card got stuck in the ATM. They just said no and were not interested in helping me at all. I went to the hotel next door then who helped me even though I was not even their guest. - After staying 8 nights with them, I asked for 1h late check-out which they refused due to lack of availability which I find hard to believe Pro’s - Location is very good - Breakfast is okay I left after 1 week to the Hilton Hotel where I had the much better service, room and cheaper price.
