Elstead Hotel

This hotel needs to be closed immediately. We stayed for two nights and if it wasn’t for the fact that I payed when booking we would have left straight away. Breakfast was a joke, advertised as full English or continental. Full English was powdered scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon and that was it. Continental was a croissant. My wife could only have toast. The bar, what bar? No draught beers only bottles and no decent wines. The inside and outside of the hotel is terrible, everything needs updating and renewing. The outside hasn’t seen a gardener for years and the inside hasn’t seen a decorator for decades. Elstead you should take your website down and re do it telling the truth.

Had a really enjoyable stay, welcoming and very friendly staff. Room had everything you needed, with little extra touches iron, hairdryer, mini fridge and tea coffee facilities. The room decor fitted in with the age of building, leaving a homely feel to it. Went for an early morning swim and was pleasantly surprised at how warm and clean the facilities were. Would recommend this hotel for value, facilities and staff.

All good and handy for visiting friends

Fairly good location bit of a walk to the beach but do able. Needs a refurbishment outside really but clean inside.

The hotel or very dated band tirrd.but very clean. The furniture reminded us of the 1980's. The shower took an eternity to.heat up and then was not very hotel. maybe it could benefit from a visit by the Hotel Inspector However it had a number of excellent points. The staff were friendly and helpful the breakfast good and free car parking. Rooms were well equipped all round represented great value for money. A little distance to.yhr beach some nice restaurants nearby for evening meals. Whilst the hotel is in Boscome there is a regular bus service into the hub and Bournemouth Town centre. If you want a reasonable price hotel and your main aim.is to.use it as a base to explore the area then we can recommend this old hotel. If you want modern and to spend a lot of time in the hotel perhaps look elsewhere

The two ladies working on reception obviously didn’t want to be there, not very friendly at all. All other hotel staff were really nice. Breakfast was the most enjoyable part of our stay. We enjoyed using the lovely pool. The Elstead is looking very tired and needs a massive input of money to get it back to how it used to be.

Property need refurbishment, Stay was average .

Everything was fine. The hotel is close to the train station (2 minute amble) which has all the local bus stops outside. There's an Asda and Lidl on either side of the station and the main shopping strip (with restaurants and nightspots) is a five minute walk down the hill. The only suggestion for improvement is to add some salad to the hot breakfast area, as sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs every day can be a bit dull.
