The Derwentwater Hotel

I booked a superior apartment but got a very basic,dark apartment with no view. Also the heating boiler was on all night although the thermostat was turned off. Apparently the apartment we were to get was being refurbished but I was not informed of this before I came. We checked out after 1 night to go somewhere else. Such a disappointment!

Je kan het meer zien vanaf de prachtige tuin en ernaar toe wandelen. Prachtige plek! De obers waren heel vriendelijk en het eten was lekker. Het hotel is iets verouderd, maar heeft daardoor ook wat charme in de inrichting. We hadden een ruime, fijne kamer, voor een degelijke prijs. We hadden dus geen probleem met iets oudere faciliteiten, want de sfeer en locatie zijn betoverend!

We waren iets vergeten in onze kamer en toen we enkele dagen later aan de telefoon vroegen of het nog in onze kamer lag en we er om konden komen, zeiden ze dat ze ons terug gingen bellen. Niemand belde terug, dus wij belden opnieuw en toen zeiden ze dat er niks was opgedoken. We wisten exact waar het lag en we waren nog maar net vertrokken, dus het was jammer dat er niet beter met achtergelaten spullen wordt omgegaan. We hadden gehoopt op een iets behulpzamere reactie en meer zorg voor verloren voorwerpen.

I would not say facilities are good. It was okay but the room is not so clean to be honest. We got two big spiders in the room 😂

Parking was easy and the staff were helpful.

Access to the second floor level with suitcases was difficult.

The breakfast was fab ,it's a help yourself buffet which is perfect for me I'm fussy wat I like to pick for a cooked breakfast so I love the fact I can help my self to whatever takes my fancy on the morning , perfect and tasty too .

Maybe some fruit options.

The room was outrageously wonky, and the floor creeked to the point of annoyance

Nice hotel,warm,clean,and not far from keswick town.

The room we had was warm enough but a bit tired needed decorating here and there.
