The Derwentwater Hotel

The location is great with walks right from the door and has access to the lake from the garden. The breakfast was a buffet which was quite good. The price was very good.

The single bed was extremely soft and could feel the springs poking into me. The TV did not work was not tuned to any programmes. The menu for dinner was very basic.

Staff lovely, majority of hotel was clean and well presented

Shower didn’t work in the bathroom resulting in us having to use another of our groups bedrooms to shower, mattress was rock solid. Still waiting for the Hotel to get in touch about the facilities not working.

Perfect location while we were waling the Cumbrian Way, very nice area

Very sad, that the hotel is very tired looking, nothing like a warming country hotel, decor was awful, very shabby looking, all needed updating, bar area was awful and not welcoming at all. Staff looked like they just could not be bothered. but considering we only paid £67 for room only, what more could we excpect.

Nice location close to Keswick. Bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Only realised how extensive the grounds were when taking a stroll after breakfast, could get right down to the lakeside.

Breakfast was very basic Bathroom got very damp - no fan and no heated towel rail and since the heating wasn’t on, the towels stayed very damp

Great location. Helpful, jolly and service minded staff. OK Breakfast, but would mark it around 6/10 (we are vegan, some may say fussy ;) so a bit negative on the available choices). Free street parking outside the hotel, if you find a spot.

Good position

It was a bit tired

My room was an adequate size and the room was a good temperature. The only thing I would change is the bathroom sink was heavily damaged.

Everything about the property was nice.

Apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable, 2 bedrooms/bathrooms good size and good heating. Kitchen well renovated and functional. Beautiful gardens and sunny conservatory.

Exhaust fan in main ensuite not working. Parts of beautiful building in need of repair, new management has plans in progress.
