Information on checking in was lacking. No way to communicate with desk staff from the room, we had to walk to the bar to talk to them.

We recently stayed at El Caminante and were pleasantly surprised by the amenities and location of our bungalow. However, our trip was unfortunately marred by a significant issue with the cooling and heating system in our room. Upon entering the room, we noticed that it was extremely cold. When we tried to go to sleep, we called the front desk station for assistance. The front desk agent provided instructions on how to fix the cooling problem by working on the panel, but unfortunately, the panel did not respond. Fifteen minutes later, the front desk agent returned to the room and attempted to fix the panel himself. However, the cooling system stopped working, and we soon realized that the thermostat had been set to the maximum heat setting, causing the room to heat up significantly. We called the front desk station again, and after another fifteen minutes, the agent tried to resolve the issue once more at 10pm. It was around midnight night when we woke up in sweat, as the room had become a sauna due to the unresolved heating problem. In the middle of the night, we had to switch to another room due to the HVAC issue. Upon checking out the next morning, we informed the new front desk agent about the incident and asked about the available options to rectify the situation. She assured us that the general manager would contact us within the day, or possibly the next day. Despite the agent’s assurances, we have yet to receive any contact from the general manager or the hotel. We are deeply disappointed, especially since we had a great experience in the room and location. We will not be returning to this location or recommending it to our friends unless the team can rectify the situation promptly.

The bungalow had so much character and charm. The rooms were small but we picked this place for its charm that you can’t get from a big hotel chain. Staff was wonderful and so nice. Just a short walk to the beach. Will definitely stay here again

Amazing place!! We got to know all the friendly staff and they were so accommodating for all our needs. The food and drinks were from a really interesting menu. The bikes were so fun. Walking distance to some fun restaurants and a bar. We’d definitely return.

The staff were exceptional! Everyone was genuinely friendly and more than helpful. The rooms and outdoor areas were extremely clean and well kept. Every day, we saw someone sweeping our patio and maintaining the grounds. The view from the patio was lovely and the beach was easy to access.

The decor was beautiful, but the room was very small and lacked storage space. We were there for six days and not having someplace to put clothes away or at least store the suitcases made navigating the space a little difficult. The shower was small-I’m 5 ft tall and it was OK for me, but my husband is 6 ft 5 in, and it was a little cramped for him. There isn’t a restaurant on-site but there are places to eat within two or less miles. All of this said, I would still stay here again.

asked for new towels on day02, person at front desk called housekeeping while i was present. when back at night realized no bed done n no NEW towels avail. Party infront of oyr bungalow until midnight n hard to find parking space that night.
