Cambridge Belfry Hotel & Spa

We had a nice stay at this hotel. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was lovely and the spa was a nice bonus. The only negative I have about this hotel is that some of the communal areas need a bit of tlc as they are getting quite tired and worn. Overall though we would return.

I had a lovely stay. The room was large, spacious and comfortable - and I got a room with a bath which was something I had requested. Everywhere I went I felt welcomed. I loved being able to walk from my room to the pool area in my robe - it made the experience so relaxing. I booked two treatments and both were excellent. Room service was quick and the portions were generous. The atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, and I slept well. I'll definitely be coming back.

Hotel - average but we would not rush to go again. The rooms a rather worn/dated with incredible small showers, the main light switch being the opposite end of the room (no common sense as you enter a pitch black room and have to go to the other side to turn lights on, switches incorrectly labelled). Restaurant - pretty average and needs updating, nice food but absolutely awful service, had to keep chasing for assistance, had to ask numerous times for Desert menu, bill etc, wine arrived put on the table left closed with glasses an said do you want me to pour it or you ok to do it.. Saturday nigh, awful women (large women) told us no walk in’s, said we are residents and after booking later, kept saying no walk in’s (restaurant allows outsiders to book for meals). She was very rude in her demeanour, left, came back later and sat in the bar and ordered bar food (looking over to the returns which all evening was never more than 50% full which was a joke when she had said earlier we have a lot of bookings when I referenced that it appeared pretty empty. Pool/Spa - very average, you stupidly have to go though the pool to get to the changing rooms, meaning you need to arrive and put on flip flops or bare feet to ge to the changing room to get changed (lack of common sense in design). Drying for swimming costumes shredded my swimming shorts, when complained suggested to call later and talk to manager. Location - Looked ideal if and remote but was actually right on top of another hotel and industrial estate. Located far too far from Cambridge centre, Expedia said 9km so about 6 miles however inaccurate was more like 11 miles and took 25mins at best to get to parking then a sizable walk. Whilst the hotel was OK, we would not consider returning. The price per night versus what you got we found it over priced and there are far better choices to be had at the same or reasonably cheaper whilst also being closer to the centre of Cambridge.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the spa was very nice and not over crowded, food in both the lounge and the restaurant was lovely and beautifully cooked and presented and room was very clean. Only negative was our room was very very warm and I didn't sleep well and couldn't see how to make room cooler.

Loved 11am checkout would come again just for that. The breakfast was very nice great food and perfectly cooked the omly negative was sadly there were a few flies around the food which was off putting. The dinner was delicious however the croquettes were over cooked. Service was brilliant even the young cleaner was polite and thoughtful. The pool was lovely however at 9.45 we were not so subtly asked to leave so maybe make it clearer on the guidance you can't swim or use the facilities until 10pm. The Guinness was off tap which was a shame. All in all lovely experience beautiful room and would come back. Thank you

Room was basic, dated and not overly clean Staff were helpful and attentive but the hotel could do with touching up in places and a decent clean

When arrived there was a little mix up with the pricing when I had booked online but I just had to show them proof of what price I had booked it and all was sorted. Staff were were friendly they gave us an upgrade on our room with complimentary drinks in the mini bar and at dinner. Food was amazing at dinner and breakfast. Hotel very clean and up to date. The spa isn't very big and at busy times it had to use the all of the facilities. The room was very nice with extra lounge and whirl bath the bed were a little to soft for my liking so I didn't sleep very well but each to their own taste. I would recommend this hotel and I would go back. Very nice stay.

I had the pleasure of holding a ladies weekend at the hotel for 60 guest. We spent two nights at the hotel, the hotel is well kept, clean and they have amazing staff. Friday night, welcome buffet in private room. Saturday morning breakfast and full use of the hotel and facilities. Family and friends used the spa and booked in massage which was by all reports first class. Saturday evening welcome drinks and a gala dinner, followed by disco till the early hours. Sunday morning breakfast before departing. Enjoyed all the food which was provided. From start to finish Amanda kept me informed and up to date with the whole process, planning and scheduling in everything for the weekend, really providing that personal touch, thank you. On the evening, meals were lead by Lisa and team, who work tirelessly to make sure the whole evening when through without any issues. I would highly recommend this hotel, the events team and all staff, and would visit again. Again, Thank you very much.

Food and bar very nice, good food. Breakfast very good. Room ok, bed comfy. Shower leaked over floor, was reported. Was not happy with the pool and spa as kids had swimming lessons every afternoon (from outside) so, was very very noisy. Not relaxing at all, so spoit out stay a bit. Also, there absolutely nothing to do in Cambourne. Very dull.

Location is excellent and easy access by bus into the city centre. Ample parking. Customer service was good in all areas. We had an offer with an evening meal and 2 breakfasts. The heating in the room did not work and continued not to work for the duration of the stay. A portable heater was provided quickly. The soap dispenser in the shower was not checked so was empty. The evening meal on a Sunday, two main dishes were not available as they were sold out. It was only 7.15pm. Breakfast is the usual buffet of cooked breakfast, cereals, toast etc. There were too many occasions where items had run out and there was still 45 minutes of service left to go. Apart from access to the spa, this hotel does not represent value for money compared to more competitive hotels. The room/bathroom was not any more spacious than the competitors.
