"needs improvment"

we stay here often but this time food was shocking! which was a real disappointment as we had brought our daughter as a treat for her graduation and we told her how nice it usually is

"Great location"

Great location. Spa facilities are slighted dated. Heating wasn’t working in our room/bathroom, and it was very cold. Reception provided us with an electric heater. Bed was nice a comfy, room was sizeable and shower was warm (bit of damp round shower seals). Food looked fab, but rather rubbish! My chicken was utterly disgusting, it had a really horrid flavour. There was a huge corporate event during our stay, the place was rammed. It was very well managed by staff. But was rather loud! Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

"Cambridge weekend"

"Lovely birthday treat!"

Lovely girls weekend away for a special birthday. Easy access by bus into Cambridge for a day out. Rooms were comfortable & hotel staff were very friendly & helpful. Jeany & Imogen looked after us really well at dinner! Breakfast was a treat. Trip finished off with a relaxing morning in the spa.

"Fine, but significant room for improvement"

We got a cheap package deal (£223/person) for two nights, including one dinner and two breakfasts, a 50-minute spa treatment and a 25-minute spa treatment. The experience was just about fine at the price point but I would not describe this as a luxury experience by any means. We enjoyed ourselves, but there were some notable failings: - None of the heating worked in the room, including the radiator and the heated towel rail. The hotel did provide a space heater on request, but no one seemed surprised the heating was broken. There was no offer to change our room. - On arrival, for a couples spa break, they put us in a twin room. We had to go back to the front desk to ask for a double/king, which was provided only under protest that we had booked a twin (we hadn’t - I double-checked there had been no error). - The spa treatments were fine. I had to answer all the consultation questions twice - once on the form, and then the exact same questions orally to the therapist. The repetition was annoying and came out of the treatment time, judging by the start and end times of the treatment. - Despite my saying (twice!) that I was wearing contact lenses, the person doing the spa treatments put wet cotton pads on my eyes (a big no-no when wearing contacts!). When I asked her not to, she removed the cotton pads but seemed a bit annoyed and insisted it was very safe. She also had to be asked to avoid my eyes when applying products to my face - and insisted she had avoided my eyes when I could clearly feel the product going on and sitting there (it had a notable cooling effect). - Annoyingly, the jacuzzi was cold-to-lukewarm when we were there. It was allegedly “coming to temperature” for the whole time. Otherwise it was good. The breakfast was very tasty and generous. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The room was spacious. The spa facilities (other than the lukewarm jacuzzi) were pleasant and well-maintained.

"Well worth the visit for a couples spa break !"

We were welcomed warmly by staff. I’m disabled and use a wheelchair. Our room was spacious and clean and was modern with all the little extras. The bathroom was very spacious and very well thought out for disabled people. The restaurant was spacious and the food was very good. The gym was well equipped and the spa area was clean and well stocked with relaxer beds by the pool. The sauna was clean and the steam room smelled of eucalyptus. We both had a treatment my one was lovely and extremely relaxing (thank you Olivia!) husbands was firm and he enjoyed it. The lady on the desk at the spa was extremely helpful and she even topped up my water bottle for me saving me the short distance to the dispenser. The hotel was quite busy but we were not disturbed at night by other guests. (This was a first, so well done for that better sound insulation we think) We also had the afternoon tea which was lovely . All in all we had a lovely experience. Also car charging on site what a bonus! Highly recommend

"Decent stay"

We stayed for one night in October 2025. Our room was upgraded FOC to a suite (I guess as a first time stay bonus). The room was nice - Though nothing really stood out. It was clean and pretty comfortable. The bed was a little firm/springy for my taste, but my partner liked it. What let it down was the maintenance and attention to detail. In room 232 there were cracked floor tiles in the bathroom, the shower door was half off it's runners and didn't seal properly, the shower head was hanging off the wall and the bath drained very slowly. The bathroom door itself was chipped in many places at the bottom and was scruffy. The sliding cupboard door in the bedroom was also very difficult to open, again it felt like it was off its runners. The room was also quite warm and stuffy, even in October, so it must not be pleasant in the summer. The breakfast was ok, though quite oily and thee bacon was a bit dry. Overall there was nothing to write home about. We didn't have time to use any of the facilities of the spa, so cannot comment on those. With a little TLC on the rooms this would have been a great stay. Instead it was just "fine".

"Beds comfy, food good, pool could be better!"

Room: The hotel room was lovely, and the bed very comfortable. We had a shower and bath in our room, so something to suit everyone. Kettle with coffee, tea etc available. Great blackout curtains and a very quiet nights sleep. Pool area: We arrived at check in time (3pm) so it was a little busy. We headed to the spa and pool which was also busy, and all the deckchairs were taken already (not a huge amount available). The pool was warm but as there is only one jacuzzi that was pretty much taken up the whole time by groups together so we only had a brief time in that. The steam room was out of order so the sauna was constantly busy, taking around 5 people comfortably. As we could only get in the pool most of the time, we spent about 45/60mins and left to go back to our room. Food: We had paid for the evening meal dinner package (£32 worth of credit each) and the food was lovely. Good prices, consistent with a hotel. Sadly, despite the food tasting delicious, the service was pretty awful. We had been seated 45mins before we even had our drinks brought over, let alone food (and I had to get someone’s attention for them to be brought at all). We weren’t checked on once during the meal, no one asked if the food was ok, no offer of any more drinks and I had to get up and ask the supervisor for our plates to be cleared away and take order of dessert after we had been left for over 20mins with our dirty dishes. I don’t think they were overly short staffed, just that staff were standing around the computer screen just occasionally glancing over their shoulder without actually speaking to any diners unless directly called over, so I think it was a training issue. It was a real shame, as it put a bit of a dampener on the evening celebrations. I had expected the restaurant to be very attentive, but we ended up being there for over 2.5hrs with very little care from the waiting staff. The kitchen are to be commended, the food was very tasty. The breakfast buffet was very nice, fresh and everything was available, and staff were much more attentive so that was great. Overall, beds were comfy but I wouldn’t come back in a hurry for the pool and restaurant.

"Rather tired hotel without the amenities your expectations from a spa"

Located in a housing/business park in Camborne just off the Bedford road. Easy to get to, large car park. We arrived at around 3.30, check in at 3. Already a long queue of people waiting to check in. Took around 15-20mins. Rooms: we were upgraded to a queen room. The bed was huge and quite comfortable. Room was clean. Towels for 2 and robes. The rooms are a bit dated and in need of modernising. Large bathroom with a tiny shower cubicle. We headed to the pool shortly after checking in. Towels provided at the desk. Lockers and showers. There were several beds and chairs by the pool, taken by guests. The spa is not huge; a pretty small 15m pool, jacuzzi okay but too small for the nber of people using the spa, the steam room was out of action, the shower by the sauna stopped working while we were there. Sauna was okay, it could fit 5 or 6. We had dinner as part of the package, £32 per person credit for food. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived. Service was good, we had steaks which were well cooked. The restaurant got noisy with more guests, staff were a bit rushed. Dessert was good. Sat in the bar, expensive drinks. There was a wedding in one of the event rooms. Music was quite loud when we got back to our room (2nd floor overlooking courtyard) until midnight. Breakfast was okay. We had a massage at the spa which was definitely worth it. Laura was lovely and 8 was so relaxed after. In all, wouldn't stay again as quite expensive for what it is!
