"Good"

Staff was helpful & very courteous. Rooms needed some updating, all the wooden surfaces were worn & chipping, metal surfaces were rusty. There was a clump of hair left behind on the bathroom floor. Bed was comfortable, morning breakfast was very good.

"Manglende seng"

2.0

"Decent hotel at the city center."

7.0

Nice room with comfortable beds Location is good, close to train station The Indonesian breakfast is decent; nothing too special but not bad either

Make sure that you do not arrive or leave on a Sunday. Sunday is car free day and in my case there was a tremendous amount of noise under the window, starting at 6am. Also, taxis could not reach the hotel. Staff is friendly but a little bit slow. I find the hotel slightly overpriced for Medan.

"Owner Should Be Ashamed Of This Property "

2.0

You arrive - the exterior is attractive, the lobby is truly grand, you arrive at your room, and enter a different universe. The room features black mold on the bathroom ceiling (no ventilation) and seemingly on the toilet.seat, peeling and poorly repaired walls that belong in a prison, sketchy wiring, an ancient audio console that does what? and chipped furniture. Only the bed seemed to have been replaced, since the building was new, and offered a bit of comfort. The staff were helpful and friendly so no complaint there - they are working with the disaster they have

As expected from a 4• hotel : Nice Spacious room, warm water, Helpful staff Wide varity for breakfast, however catering more to indonasian taste. Big shopping mall within walking distance, as is the trainstation to the airport.

Even the sealed windows couldn't keep out the noise from a mosque. The light for the working desk is too weak .

"Excellent location in Medan City - so easy to get to!"

5.0

Location was excellent - fly into KNO, take airport train to Medan City main station (use Exit A) and then walk 300 metres across the City Square (refurbishment nearly complete) - nothing could be easier. During our 6-night stay I was one of only 3 westerners staying in the hotel - the rest of the guests were either of East/Far-East origin or were 'locals' attending a large conference during the first couple of days of our stay. Our room was large and in the main comfortable - but see below under "What we didn't like". Breakfast was very comprehensive and catered for all tastes, but was cooked in a predominantly Indonesian style (slightly spicy) - breakfast was taken every day in the restaurant. We didn't use the restaurant for lunch or dinner, due to initially the large convention taking place and thereafter as the a la carte menu was 'suspended' to be replaced by a Ramadan buffet each evening. Note: The Medan City Mall at the main train station has a full range of restaurants from fast food to high-end, and all at incredibly low prices (one main course for two (with soft drinks) at a mid-range establishment, came it at only £7.56 one evening! - "incredible" is the correct description). In view of my later comments, I wish to now differentiate between room maintenance and housekeeping - during our 6-day stay the standard of house-keeping 'to make up our room' each day was exemplary and could not be faulted - well done to house-keeping!!

On entering our room on the first evening, my wife's initial reaction was to request an immediate room change, but unfortunately the hotel was full. The room looked like there had been a battle between human guests and local mosquitoes, with the walks pock-marked by red 'blood" spots, as the humans finally won. The single comfortable armchair was multiple-stained 'with what we do not know of', but neither of us were prepared to actuality sit in the arm chair throughout our stay. The room needed a very deep clean. We negotiated a deep clean the next day by their maintenance team, which brought the room up to an acceptable standard. We asked to borrow an iron and ironing board - one was quickly provided and we were told we could have it for an hour - possession being 9/10ths of the law meant we finally handed it back on Day 6 of our stay!!! The bathroom sink plug was of the 'push to close and push to open' type ' - it would initially intermittingly close, but by Day 3 it decided to remain fully open at all times - not very ecologically sensible, being a waste of hot water! Another maintenance issue to be solved! One wall was covered with wall paper - very tasteful, but it would look far better it the 'curling' edges of each strip of paper were pasted back into position onto the wall by the hotel's maintenance team! Wi-Fi incredibly slow - many websites "timed out", so we decided to use Wi-Fi in the restaurants at the Medan City Mall or from the tables just outside the Mall's "Starbucks" (very fast connection).
