Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara

We had an absolutely incredible stay at The Royal Livingstone Hotel. The staff was simply spectacular, the grounds immaculate and we had several incredible meals. The best feature though are the impala, zebra, and giraffe roaming the grounds. It is simply a spectacular property on the Zambezi river. Special thanks to Phylis, Lupinda, and Vivian who made our stay very comfortable.

Beautiful surroundings, lovely staff and waking up to Zebras and Giraffes on the lawn was magical. Walking to the Victoria Falls each day was also great along with a helicopter ride over the Falls.

We stayed two nights and loved it. It is quite magical to walk your lodge and see zebras grazing outside your door or have a giraff walk by a few meters away. Our room was very comfortable and clean (I saw at least one reviewer had been unhappy with the cleaning of the room but we were happy with it and we are sticklers for cleanliness). There were lots of small treats in our room that we appreciated. The one thing I feel the room needs to improve on is charging; all customers now come with smart phones and other things that need charging so the room should have more and more conveniently located outlets). The staff were all friendly and helpful. The buffer breakfast was outstanding in variety and quality. The location was perfect for excursions to look at rhinos, the Victoria Falls and the Zambezi river and also to take the old, luxurious train with dinner.

Our stay at the Royal Livingstone Lodge was absolutely fantastic — a perfect mix of classic elegance and the untamed beauty of the Zambezi River. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into another world. Zebras wandered freely across the lawns, the staff greeted us with warmth and grace, and every detail, from the cool welcome drink to the evening turn-down service, was impeccable. Our room opened directly onto the river, where we could hear the distant thunder of Victoria Falls. Each sunset turned the water to gold, and we’d sit out with a drink, watching the light fade as hippos grunted somewhere downstream. It was peaceful, grounding, and breathtakingly beautiful. Breakfasts on the terrace were a highlight — the food was delicious, and the view was unforgettable. We loved the private walkway leading straight to Victoria Falls, a rare privilege that made the experience even more special. Royal Livingstone isn’t just a lodge — it’s an experience that captures the heart of Africa, blending comfort, grace, and adventure in the most unforgettable way.

The scenic views and excellent service from all the staff will definitely bring us back to this hotel.

The lay out is vintage the staff are amazing our Butler Anne was amazing always made sure we had everything we needed. this is a place like paradise. the food service was excellent too.

The scenery. seeing giraffes and Zebras and chimpanzees on the property walking around in close proximity it’ was refreshing.
