Holiday Inn Express Southfield-Detroit, an IHG Hotel

When we first got into our original room it smelt as if someone had smoke in there all night. We notified a lot of stains and crumbs all over the room. Next to the bed there was a broken piece of furniture and behind it was a ton of large crumbs including French fries. We felt very uncomfortable in this room as to how dirty it was. We got moved to another. The room was cleaner but she had crumbs as if no one vacuumed properly. I also bought my parents a room for the night and there was a white substance on the wall next to the bed, was extremely disgusting. The location was very loud and noisy. There was a large birthday party taking place that took over the entire pool area and we didn’t get a chance to enjoy the pool/hottub. Breakfast was okay. Felt that the manager could of at least offered us a discount for how dirty our originals rooms were. But instead he acted annoyed at us. I asked why these rooms aren’t cleaned and his reply was well your room just needs to be vacuumed, which clearly is a part of cleaning. Will never stay at the facility again.

Nice room and that’s it. During check in they were power spraying the walkways and everyone was getting wet. Elevator was shaking real bad so my family used the steps. Supposedly this hotel is non smoking and I smelled plenty of weed on the 3rd floor. Loud music coming from other rooms all night. Never coming back here!

Not so good. Room was not sufficiently supplied or ready for guest. Bathroom sink was plugged, the bedside lights did not work, the television did not operate properly and when I picked up the phone, the handset dangled from the phone base. When I reattached, no service. Then I saw there was no phone line coming from wall. Also breakfast was slow in the many items not refilled and had to ask for coffee, sausage/bacon and toast. Then we had to wait awhile while it was made. Very dissapointed in my stay.

Water was not getting hot and bed sheets were not clean

Very worn down rooms. Exposed staple in the carpet, bathroom was not cleaned well, door had to be pushed to latch properly.

The property was centrally locate to where I needed to be

All the staff was very friendly, but cleanliness could be upped a notch. It wasn't visibly dirty, but things like window frames tracks had grossness in it, and clearly somebody spilled red drinks on the floor and the carpeting was stained in spots I would stay again

The room was dirty and things were broken. It smelled like a baked 24 session every morning. The breakfast was unexceptable. Ill have to think twice before choosing a Holiday inn from now on.

The rooms were filthy. We had hair in our breakfast and in our sheets. The hotel had an “event” going on and that left no parking for actual hotel guests.
