Homewood Suites by Hilton - Oakland Waterfront

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely old hotel with water views. The staff were warm and welcoming and kept the place very clean. That said, there are two negatives: It seems we now have to pay for parking. The same thing happened at their Paso Robles hotel. Why it’s not included in the room rate is a mystery. I feel that Hilton is now nickel and diming its guests. Why so mean-spirited? The other thing is that you now have to request that your beds be made. It is not automatic at all. One of the great pleasures of being on vacation is coming back to a room with the beds freshly made. Now we can’t even be sure of that. You have to ask for it each and every day. What are they going to take away next? The sheets? Other than that, we had a great time and enjoyed staying at his hotel.

We stayed at Homewood Suites Oakland Waterfront for a week long Little League Baseball tournament in July 2025 (and our team was actually featured on their Instagram 2-3 times I think). Their staff was easy to work with in helping us set up with a small discount for our team a week before we were set to arrive (we won our state tournament a week and a half before regionals in Oakland). The facilities were perfect for our group-- we were able to utilize the grills to get together, and the indoor and outdoor gathering spaces for our team to eat together, for parents to hang out together and for team meetings. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. The free breakfast was hearty, there was always a breakfast meat, eggs a starch and a Mexican themed option (Breakfast taco or burrito), fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, baked goods and waffles. The 24 hour laundry facility was also more than adequate for our team with 3 washing machines and four dryers. I will be honest--reviews about the rooms being worn down as other viewers have stated were true-- I had a burner go out on me in the kichenette and the garbage disposal also go out, but the staff was quick to respond and came within 30 minutes of reporting the problem and while some of the furniture could be replaced (some were worn out), the rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff did a good job of keeping the rooms clean. As others have noted, parking can be an issue some nights--we would come back and there wasn't enough parking.. we usually had to just park in red zones until folks from the nearby restaurant left. The hotel has a night security guard watching things though-- so I didn't feel unsafe at any time.

2 out of the 3 staff there had an excellent customer service with superb acknowledgement and made me feel welcomed and even asked me if I need anything to let them know. Thanks to the both of you!

Beautiful harbor view on one side and the other the noise of a busy freeway. They charged for an open parking too and very limited.

That the lake was nearby. Honestly not many good things to say about this property.

No security present, unsafe location. Car was broken into and they still charged me parking. They couldn’t even comp it. Just ridiculous. Would not recommend anyone to stay here not even my worst enemy. I will never return.

Easy to check in and out .. The staff was so friendly and most specially the morning breakfast … It’s great !!!

There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling, possibly due to an overflowing shower in the unit above; however, no other issues were reported.
