Gran Festivall Resort

Something happened with this hotel. We stayed here before Covid and now 6 years later when we returned we were shocked! Definitely not recommending and will never return. Our rooms got flooded during a heavy but typical rain. Everything is falling apart and should be shut down.

We stayed here 35 years ago for our honeymoon and we are back now to celebrate our anniversary. The resort is tired and in need of repairs but the staff is definitely their greatest assets. Every person we were in contact with are friendly, kind and patient with our limited ability to speak Spanish. The food and entertainment is wonderful. Juan the main pool bartender added so much to our vacation! He is an amazing person who couldn't do enough to make our stay wonderful. Juan you are a star!!! I also wanted to include Carlos, and Fransisco in the buffet for good service every evening and also the gentleman (sorry didn't get his name), that was our bellhop. He was so pleasant with us when we had to change rooms, that it made the move okay. Also please talk to Benito in the lobby if you want to book an excursion. He set us up with an amazing tour guide. The night shows are really first class including the children's shows which are all Disney themed and wonderful for the kids including photos with the characters after their performances. If I was rating this resort on staff, food and entertainment only, 5 stars wouldn't be enough.

Never again will I stay @ Gran Festivall! They had NO hot water! The place is not worth the money. Personnel was ok & friendly but needs lots of upkeep and its dirty. No hangers, washcloths or hand towels. The food and drinks were blah. And they call themselves a Resort? This place shouldn’t be promoted by any agency! I read reviews from years ago and the same things have been going on, altho the management promises to improve conditions…no change. Terrible place to go on vacation!

The hotel is located in a very large area that is across the road from the beach. Aside from that, everything else is less than pleasing. The facilities need to be updated asap. Our hotel room did not have a working AC for the top room which was the one that needed it the most. Ants were everywhere in all rooms, the bed was very hard and and everything was old. No microwave and no fridge. We will definitely not be coming back.

Do not believe all the good reviews on here. I believe these are people that work here that leave good reviews. If there was a negative -0 I would pick this. This place was the nastiest place I have ever stayed. When I say rum please RUN!!!! Mosquitos in this are will eat you alive. It is so run down that I cannot believe it’s still doing business. I paid for 6 days and I just couldn’t do it. 1 day was plenty for me so I cut my losses and headed to Barcelo which is beautiful, clean, and the food was to perfection. If these pic don’t scare you then I don’t know what will.

NEEDS TO BE RENOVATED AND DEEP CLEANED.
