Hilton Garden Inn Independence

This property is under renovation and I got an old room. Requested single king bed got 2 full size beds instead. Breakfast was good.

It was good

I love a Hilton but this one was disappointing. The bed was super uncomfortable, there was no hot water when we showered and the bottom of the tub was brown like it hadn’t been cleaned in 2 months. The elevator was so freaking slow I was afraid I was going to get trapped in it every time. The location was perfect but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Our room was clean, but unfortunately the whole hotel smelled like a sewage line had broken out in the hotel. The room smelled musty but other than that everything was clean. It was a fine stay for one night, but i definitely wouldn’t have stayed any longer.

No hot water, run down, bathtub was clogged non working

The bed was very uncomfortable and I paid for a king size room and I got a queen size bed

I didn't get a chance to like anything.

I was able to reserve and pay for a room online only to be told upon arrival they don't allow locals that live within 30 miles of the hotel to reserve a room. I had to find elsewhere to stay on very short notice due to this. I had to enter my address online so I should have never been able to place a reservation if this is their rule. I was successful in obtaining a refund a few days later, but this put a delay in my plans for the evening, and I had to pay to stay somewhere else.

I only booked with this property because it had a hot tub, which was broken that night. They also had a wedding and booked a childs birthday group. Both which were obnoxious and went running around most of the night. But we couldn't even get use of the pool or breakfast because of crowds of children/drunk or hungover people. Waa not relaxing at all.

Stay was fine. Floor was a little dirty in bathroom. Shower water was only lukewarm. Otherwise, decent night of sleep.
