Surrey Inn Ashland

Staff not very helpful. Don’t count on breakfast.

The property is close to Ashland which is exactly what we wanted. Restaurant attached was good. It's a little dated, but we were just sleeping and showering there so it was fine. I would totally stay there again. Close to downtown, close to campus.

No breakfast

Room was clean and tidy, had aircon fridge and microwave. Really comfy bed and nice bathroom. Staff were lovely and welcoming

I had asked for an electrical outlet to plug in my Hybrid plug-in vehicle. This was provided. Hotel is a pleasant property but is in need of some management tlc. Door keys are old-style keys, toilets are old-style 3.5 gal per flush ( instead of modern 1.5 gal/ flush), flies in most areas. Night staff were pleasant and helpful but seemed tired. Day staff pleasant.

Liked the area it is in. Did not like the fact that there was suppose to be a continental breakfast and there was none.

Frig in the room had a lock on it and they have no keys to unlock the frig, if you don't have the keys then remove the frig's from the rooms. Ice machine was empty and dirty. There's a sign saying breakfast from 7-9a but there was no breakfast. There's a frig in the lounge with random food items in it and it hasn't been cleaned in months from the looks of it. This is just a place to lay your head for 1 night if you drink enough not to notice your surroundings.
