Surrey Inn Ashland

This is a modest inn/motel. The rooms (while dated) were very clean and the heat/AC kept us very comfortable. The lobby doesn't have the "wow factor" that many new or chain hotels do, it's pretty dated and has a slight musty (maybe smoke?) smell, but the staff is very friendly and helpful! The location is what keeps us coming back: right by the college, not too far from the bars/restaurants downtown.

Felt uncomfortable, wouldn’t sit on the chair because of the stains. Bar was so loud sleeping was nearly impossible. For a 1 night stay it was manageable but I’ll never stay here again.

It's a $50 or $60 a night place. Perfect for me when I'm riding my Harley. I picked the Surrey Inn also because it has a bar and restaurant attached. Needs an up-date but it was good for the price. The room and linens were clean.

I used to stay here as a traveling salesman many years ago and thought it might be nice to try it again for nostalgic reasons. Bad decision. Would have been a better decision to leave the good memories stay put. Doesn't seem like the owners have invested a dime into the place since my last stay 20 years ago. Can't find one compelling reason to recommend staying here.

Price was good for an OK hotel. The AC worked good. Good choice of channels on the tv. Refrigerator worked great in the room. The continental breakfast is basic items. Rooms need better cleaned. The bed wasn't very comfortable. We reserved a king but got 2 double beds. They didn't have any kings available.

Rooms were nice. Front desk didn't follow covid procedures, no barriers and no masks.

The hotel was fine but farther from highway than I thought. The attendants were very nice and helpful. I found out you overcharged me. I could have walked in and got a room for $53. Next time I will call hotel direct instead of going through hotels.com. You don’t have the best prices :-(

When I arrived there was candy scattered all over the lobby floor and no one was at the front desk. I rang the bell on the counter and waited 5 minutes. I rang it again and waited another 5 minutes. Then I called the hotel phone number to inform them that I was standing at the front desk trying to check in. There was loud music coming from outside and they said it was probably from the bar next door. When we got to the room there was blood spots on the wall on either side of the toilet and a hair ball in my towel. When I checked out The next morning, the man a the front desk just said, “just leave your key in that basket” Never asking if everything was ok.

Very nice and comfortable setting, this was my second stay. Highly recommend
