Location, staff, pools, beach massages ⛱️ Live outdoor music was beautiful!! Mexican fiesta, show and outdoor dinner were very nice.

Light house and sushi restaurant, while good, were underwhelming. Too much loud boom boom music at times in pools, bars, and lobby show - especially considering the older age demographic. Loud karaoke is annoying. LET'S GIVE IT UP FOR RONALDOOOO!!! Facility showing some age and the birds!!!.

La comida podría mejorar, también las bebidas; las sirven muy cargadas y no están ricas. Hay poco personal en el bar y meseros. No funcionaban los elevadores, la maquina de hielo y la maquina de helado

Breakfast service needed more people

The staff is almost uniformly cheerful, helpful, and friendly, especially the servers. Our maid, Carmen, was wonderful and quickly responded to our request for another blanket and more water. She is a gem. We loved seeing our dear friend, the pool/beach server, Luis, from years past. In the dining room Carlos and Martha were especially nice and attentive.

Oh, Lord, where to start? We had stayed at this facility for many years when it was still a Barcelo hotel. We were hopeful that the new ownership/renovation by Solaris would be a nice refresh for a place we loved. It was quite the opposite. Basic things, like 4 out of 7 elevators not working (and not a repairman in sight for an entire week!) My brother-in-law had stayed here back in June and said it was the same then. The jacuzzi had only 1 feeble working jet and was lukewarm. Broken lounge chairs, a bathroom door that didn't latch, a broken refrigerator in my sister's room, burnt out light bulbs, tattered, crumbly yoga mats and broken equipment in the gym, slow WiFi, and crumbling infrastructure like peeling paint, holes in the roof, rusty pipes, etc. just added to the feeling that any renovation was limited to new furniture and cosmetic changes. In fairness, the place is very clean, the pools are lovely, and it is a decent location, especially for walking into town to take advantage of restaurants and stores there. Perhaps one of the worst thing is the lengthy, unnecessarily complicated check-in process, when one is already tired and need of a rest. The emphasis is definitely on "excursions" and signing up to hear about time shares (Solaris's main priority, don't think otherwise!)

I though that the multiple pool options were good. Breakfast was very good with several different stations/options. Staff was very helpful. Good wine!

More croissants at breakfast please

We were there Nov 27-Dec4-2025. Our original booking was forOct20-29 but we had cancelled through Booking.com and rebooked through WestJet. GR Solaris Lighthouse did not refund our booking for Oct 20-29, as we had requested. Very unhappy with non refund, even though we had rebooked for Nov 27-Dec 4, 2025.
