Hotel was in a great location for us. The room was clean and comfortable enough. It was surprisingly quite considering its right beside a major interstate. Breakfast was good, and the lady taking care of the breakfast was super friendly. The only thing I would really change would be the location where people smoke. Each time we entered the hotel, there were people smoking right beside the entrance, so we had to walk through smoke each time. Other than that, our stay was pretty good.

The pool didn’t appear to be usable I had three people in my party however, There were only two towels and 2 cups 😳

Who doesn’t like walking through smoke to get to the front door of a hotel?! I waited over 10 minutes for the older front desk clerk Susan to come in from outside. Reeking of cigarettes and coughing she rudely checked me. No apology for the wait. Two more trips through the haze of smokers and drinkers before I got to my room which was absolutely disgusting. There was hair all over the bathroom floor, hair and stains in the sheets, old food on the carpet, and mold around the tub and shower curtain. I went back down to the desk clerk and surprise I had to wait another 10-15 minutes for her to reappear. I explained the situation to Susan and she just shrugged and said the hotel was short staffed and had new people working. Why is that my problem when I was paying for a room? I explained to Ms Susan that was not really my problem, and that because I was paying to stay there I expected cleanliness to be at the top of the list. She offered to give me new sheets and a bottle of cleaning supplies. I asked for a manager and she said there wasn’t one but that it would most likely be her. I explained that all of my experience thus far was unacceptable and her response was highly inappropriate. She just shrugged again and said that there was nothing she could do for me. I turned to gather go back to my room to collect my things and heard Susan mumble under her breath the hard R, N word. I turned back around and she smirked at me. I went to another hotel and have contacted my bank for a chargeback. I am appalled at the condition of this hotel, and at the ignorance of the people who work there.

Beautiful property. Delicious pancakes for breakfast. Pool is cold enough to practice for the polar plunge. Friendly staff.

Overall, property was clean, friendly and well-maintained. Breakfast had a good variety. We had two rooms. One was spotless and perfect. The other was clean, but had an odor and my senior citizen father found a crackpipe hidden in it. Overall, I would totally stay here again, I think our only issue was a previous guest, an outlier. This was a good place to stay.

This Holiday Inn Express in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania is probably one of the most hospitable hotel I've ever been at. First, the room is spacious. We booked the King bedroom Suite. There is a separate couch in a receiving area before the King bed. There was also extra pillows which I requested during the reservation. We were put in the first floor suite (which I also requested because I now walk with a cane). Secondly, the lady that serves breakfast was always very cheerful and greets everyone who comes out for breakfast. Their free breakfast is served between 6 to 9 a.m. we stayed for 4 days and 3 nights and they served my favorite sausage and gravy with fresh biscuits. They have a selection of fresh fruits as well - slightly green bananas, apples and oranges. 3 types of juices - orange, cranberry and apple. They also serve coffee 24 hours. We met with a realtor in the dining area and at that time, there were free doughnuts at the reception area. Third, the hotel is very disabled friendly. Parking is readily available in front on the hotel. Fourth, there are restaurants everywhere. There is even an Arby's right beside the hotel itself. Fifth, every staff we met has been very friendly, courteous and informative when we ask questions and directions. If we're in this area again, we would definitely come back to stay!
