Staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Only had a couple plug ins and a small fridge in the room

Great staff, helpful when our TV was not working. Pool is warm during cold weather.

Off site indoor swimming. Very expensive. Added fees of parking and resort fees which we were unable to use due to weather. Bathroom had some mold around sink faucets.

I was very disappointed with this stay. My husband and I booked this hotel to celebrate his birthday, and before arriving I contacted the hotel to confirm some details. Unfortunately, when we arrived none of the things we discussed were done. I spoke with the front desk, but they did not offer any real solution or help. Considering this was a special occasion and the price we paid, the experience did not meet our expectations at all. I have stayed in many hotels before and I expected much better service.

We stayed in the Main portion of the building. The facilities including pool and restaurants were good. The service was great. I am not sure if I got an upgrade but the room was very large but not for much use. It was just a very large square with king bed and large kitchen table. Bathroom same size as other Marriott's. Room was showing some age. Carpet just felt musky and in need of replacement. The location and room is ok to great for a maximum of 3 nights. I would not stay a week here. The fitness center has a lot of equipment but very old. The nicest part was the spa. I was shocked. It to is showing age but this is not offered at most locations. The facility is included in the resort fee. You have steam room, hot tub, sauna, and showers. This was very nice as we had a late flight. I was disappointed in not being able to get a late checkout. Being an ambassador elite member and or titanium depending on the year I am customed to a 4pm check out. They stated they were 100% booked. There were plenty of rooms online and I called Marriott and they stated there were plenty of rooms. I am seeing this at more and more Marriott though.

Our reservation placed us in the Captiva Tower, which is technically on property but sits roughly half a mile from the main hub, the Sanibel Tower. There were also other properties between the Captiva Tower and the Sanibel tower. The Captiva Tower is very much an afterthought. There is a small pool and a ping pong table there, no other resort amenities. The main pool complex, multiple restaurants, and the primary activity areas are all located at the Sanibel Tower. The rest of our team was housed there, which made coordination difficult and left us feeling disconnected from the group. Any photos that you see online are of the Sanibel Tower, not the Captiva Tower. Customer service was consistently underwhelming. For example, when I asked about pickleball equipment, I was told it was available, but no additional details were offered. I then had to follow up again just to find out where to obtain it. Information was minimal and not proactively shared. The Captiva Tower itself felt isolated. There was no staff presence at the entrance. Elevators were supposed to require key-card access for security, but none of the scanners were functioning during our stay, which raised safety concerns. We only discovered on our final day that complimentary coffee was offered each morning in the second-floor lobby of the Captiva Tower — a space we didn’t even realize existed due to lack of signage or communication. The fitness center was dated and had a musty odor. Overall, the property feels like it was likely very impressive when first built, but it now shows signs of deferred maintenance and would benefit from updates and better operational oversight. In summary, while the setting is beautiful and the property has potential, the combination of poor communication, inconsistent service, and lack of upkeep significantly detracted from what should have been a seamless team travel experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful experience hosting an event for the Edison Pageant of Light, a community tradition that has been around for 88 years, at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott. The staff was professional, accommodating, and made the entire process smooth from start to finish. A special thank you to Anne-Marie, the events coordinator, who was absolutely fantastic. She helped us honor our long-standing traditions while making last-minute changes easy and stress-free. Her organization, communication, and attention to detail made a huge difference. We truly appreciate the partnership and highly recommend the Sanibel Harbour Marriott for special events.
