Hotel PortAventura

Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful in all aspects. We stayed there for 1 night. The room is below average in terms of decor. It is very big for a standard double room and the bathroom is also big. We encountered at the door a dead butterfly with ants around it. In the room, there was a really bad smell (humidity). Its like the smell you get in underground garages and closed spaces with not enough ventilation. The shampoo bottle was empty in the bathroom.

Close to all three parks. Half board was good. Lots to choose from. Some staff - wonderful helpful Some staff - just didn’t want to know/ rude

I had the worst expérience with the front desk agent. The air conditioning Wasn’t working , first night i didn’t sleep after a long flight and their agent wasn’t helpful at all.

The hotel is beautiful and the facilities and access to the parks is the best part. Staff are lovely, and helpful. Yet there isn't enough vegetarian options in restaurants and there's always a long queue for reception. I would recommend this hotel for its location and price.

Hotel excellently located for PortaAventura park. After a long day in the hot sun its great to just stroll from the park to your hotel, especially if you have kids. Buffet food is on a weekly menu rotation but the choice is huge and quality excellent. Lots of fresh fish and fruit. Amazing deserts. Pool is quiet when you want a break from roller coasters and there are plenty of sunbeds. A few guests still get up to put towels on before breakfast but this is not common and it is easy to find a sunbed even late in the day. Towels and sheets are changed daily and the rooms are also cleaned each day. Guests appear to be mainly Spanish or French with a few Brits and Russians thrown in. Hotel staff speak all of these languages.

We just returned from a 6 night stay at the Hotel PortAventura and it was fantastic. Gorgeous hotel and great theme parks/water park just a few minutes walk away. Plenty on offer to cater for both our 12 year old and 4 year old. The service was great. Staff really friendly and helpful. The only complaint was that there was no iron available at the hotel so we'll know to take our own next time and we couldn't believe the price of water!! The buffet restaurant was superb. We ended up eating there almost every night so next time we'll know to go at least half board as food and drink is quite expensive. We did all 3 parks and my husband and son spent a day in Barcelona so 6 nights was about right. Being a 5 minute walk away from the parks meant we could spend the morning doing rides and then the afternoons in the pool. Being a Disney World snob I wasn't expecting much from PortAventura but I was pleasantly surprised and we'll definitely be going back... with a travel iron and our own water!!

Hotel and facilities very basic. You are paying for the convenience of the park. Huge queues for dinner...

Firstly i'll say the good thing was how close everything was to this hotel, But that is the only good thing. I had to stay in 3 different rooms during a 4 night stay. As we arrived we noticed LOADS of ants, the morning after we woke up I literally saw ants on my friends pillow. It was gross and we went to tell reception but oh my god there was always a queue there. That night we came home at 3am and our sink was FULL of ants like literally a sea of ants. We run down and tell them and show the man a picture and he literally said "we have no rooms" as if we had to deal with it. So we stay put and they sent the cleaners who couldnt even speak english with us to see the issue. Magically when the cleaners confirmed it was BAD, they gave us this room which they said we have to give back in the morning. We got about 2 calls in the morning which woke us up basically telling us to get out. I also wouldnt trust the cabs they called for us as they took almost 30 mins to come the first night and that damn cab charged us double normal price and took us through some long route that was unnecessary. Food options were not great we ended up at the beach for dinner everyday as the queue for the buffet was crazy. Buffet was tiny and options wernt even that great.

Great location for easy access to and from the park each day (especially with tired kids at the end of each day). Breakfast is slightly chaotic, but to be expected when the entire hotel is trying to get breakfast at the same time before the park opens (so they give you an allocated time slot). Rooms are clean and “compact” (which was fine for us as we spent all day at the park)
