Occidental Punta Cana - All Inclusive

This resort is just better than ok. The beach is beautiful. The best thing to this resort The room were great, no complaints there, very well cleaned But the food is a miss. Unless u eat at the al a carte all the time. The buffet, the food was always cold!

This was a horrible place. We had so many incidents and it seemed like the staff hated us. The food is also horrible. Good luck if u book here

This resort was overall a great resort! Maybe a heads up to the people who don’t travel a lot to alert us of spring breakers and times of which they would be booking. It made our stay a little uncomfortable because of noise sometimes and the lack of service because some staff at bars catered to them mostly. Made getting drinks a little hard for the most part. Also made à la cartes hard to sit and enjoy because of noise levels. I know spring breakers were there to have fun as well so we let most of it slide. Buffets were average and some à la cartes were tasty. Rooms were nice although a little dated and beds could use more comfortable pillows. We loved almost everything about this resort and will 100% be booking again. We now have learned when not to book for our next stay 😁

I just have to praise Wendy and Hipolito from the Royal Level à la carte restaurant. They were just exceptional. Wendy had my pot of hot water and jug of cold milk on the table before I even asked and both were such lovely souls. Had a great time and would definitely recommend Royal Level. The staff at the beach bar were wonderful too. In fact all the staff were.

A lot of noise near from our room. We did not sleep well all day. Manager sent the security but did not solve the problem.

Besides for a really nice beach . . . Had a leak in the ceiling that got pretty bad, pooling water in the closet and on the floor. Reported to front lobby. No one ever came to look at it. They have a drink menu, but none of the beers on it are available except for one and the bar staff doesn't know how to make the majority of the cocktails listed on it. They charge $20 for lost pool towels. Mine was stolen from our lounge chair the first day when we were a few feet away in the pool. Snack Bar food is absolutely disgusting. Buffet sanitation is very poor. With lack of tongs, many people were just using their hands! Reservation dinners weren't bad, except for last night at the Mexican restaurant. Food was great, but had to wait over an hour for our food and no one came to fill our water / ask us if we wanted more drinks during that time!

I recently stayed at this property for 10 days while chaperoning a group of students. I’ve stayed at many properties here in the Punta Cana area and can not say enough good things about the staff at this hotel. From the animation team to the front desk and groups department, bell boys and even the security- their team was always on point and ready to help.Even in situations of conflict, they were there to work with us and find a resolution that worked for everyone. I would def recommend this hotel for any large groups in the future and look forward to working with them again!

Hotel Staff was super friendly and easy to work with. The animation team goes all out to create the best experience for all guest. All events put on were entertaining! 5 stars for the experience and friendliness of the staff.

Great animation team! They helped us in coordinating a volleyball game and karaoke for our group! Shout out to the head of animation. We will be visiting again

We just returned back from a one week visit to this resort. Yes, it was filled with US College spring breakers because of the timing of the trip but it also had families looking for a simple getaway that ticked all the boxes. We had a great time…lots of sun, plenty of space at the beach and pools, and friendly staff. It wasn’t a long distance from the airport and the resort wasn’t too big so it was walkable for everyone and we trusted our kids to walk around unassisted. We also found the food at both buffets to be good and the 5 à la cartes were simple but a nice change from the buffets. I was initially worried about getting food sick but there was nothing to worry about at all (although I’m always amazed when people eat meat and cheese that have been sitting out for hours at any buffet). My kids (13 and 7) can be picky eaters and they always found something (they loved the freshly made custom crepes and pizza) and we never complained about being hungry. Because of the size, we made friends with families and groups that we ran into often and that was really nice. The kids even made friends and visited the kids club a few times to give us some adult time. We all played the daily games with the animation teams…came home with some bottles of rum as prizes! We also did two excursions right from the beach at our resort so that was nice to not have to travel off the resort and worry about the traffic. There were salespeople for the vacation club, spa, and excursions, circling around the pool and beach quite a bit but if you politely decline they have a good sense of humour and will respect your wishes. After a while you don’t notice them. Be kind to them as they’re just doing their job and they’ll be kind back. Sure the timing wasn’t the greatest with the spring break crew but their travel schedules are limited and so is ours so we made the best of it. For the most part they were very friendly to us and the kids and we never felt we like didn’t belong or were out of place. They also brought a fun energy to the resort too…and good reminders that we were young once too! It was also really cool to have the World Baseball Classic games running on the big screen in the theatre during our stay….one big all ages sports bar where you eat and drink for free! 😉 For a last minute booking, we were happy with this place and would consider coming back again.
