Occidental Punta Cana - All Inclusive

Just leaving Occidental Punta Cana after 7 days. Best part was we had a personal butler for all our needs. Restaurants book by him. Any issues he resolved fast. Super friendly gentleman named Stevens. High recommend getting him for an additional small tip for the week. Pool was great. Pool bar great. Bar at beach could have been much faster always a long line. The food was ok. Bacon on some days. Salad bar was very small. Pasta bar was fantastic. Oriental restaurant was the best. Again having a butler for our large group made things hassle free including checkout. Remember Stevens the butler!

Visited 5 days after a cruise as solo female traveller. Room huge & clean. Grounds around hotel amazingly well kept. Food awful. Buffet cross contamination, not enough serving spoons. Was ill 1st night after eating at main buffet. Used a la carte restaurants but no better. Waitresses/ bar staff in lobby bar very friendly but other areas rude (snack bar in particular) not accepting of single female. Will never return to this hotel

Despite some crappy reviews about food we found the number of restaurants and the choices of food at this hotel great. We loved the steakhouse and the Mexican a la carte restaurants. The seafood restaurant was okay but really not up our alley. Bar lines went relatively fast and drinks for the most part were good. The beach does struggle with seagrass after the storms but they do have a tractor that goes up and down to get rid of it. Ocean swimming area is small as there is a fairly strong undertow and the waves can hit hard but are fun to play in. Our family loved it and would definitely recommend it,

We knew this was a good deal on 7 nights for 3 rooms during the Holiday season. I did lots of research and knew what to expect would be lacking. Unfortunately it was just more disappointing than we expected. There were many staff that were incredible. The rooms were a bit in disrepair with ceilings falling in/paint peeling, large cockroach in our room the first night, gaps under doors which allowed more bugs in, hard to maintain a constant temperature, many missing days of room cleaning/maintenance even in the suites and the rest of the resort had struggles like the unknown system of how to make reservations for meals, quite a few staff who seemed to think you should be grateful to be there and receive whatever you got even if it’s not what you should have, no beach or pool service with extremely long lines at the one beach bar and one pool bar for such a big resort. Being English speaking it was a bigger challenge to communicate than we’ve had at other resorts - not a negative just a heads up. Again, for the price maybe it’s all acceptable, but we’ve just experienced much nicer options in the Punta Cana area.

I read many reviews before booking—most were positive, with a few negative ones. My honest feedback is that the resort is overall beautiful and well maintained. Traveling as a Black couple from America, we had an amazing experience. There were a few minor hiccups at the beginning, but they were resolved. I would definitely return.

The hotel was at the end of a sketchy road that gets super congested entering or leaving. Property its self is beautiful and well maintained. Pool areas and beach were nice but they could use more shaded areas and the loungers at the beach are in poor condition. Food was subpar and all 3 people in my party got sick (stomach issues). Entertainment in the evenings was ok - we really enjoyed the circus show and Michael Jackson show was also pretty cool. Housekeeping was exceptional.
