Occidental Punta Cana - All Inclusive

This resort is beautiful, well maintained and there is something to do everyday. The staff are amazing and the drinks are the best. I would definitely return to this resort and I had the best experience whilst I was here. Thanks to all of the staff that made my stay so amazing. I was able to make beautiful memories with my family. The only reason why I didn't give five stars is just because of the food. As a personal preference I think there should be more carribean food as an option.

Went with partner and tweens for a break from the winter for a week. Overall, staff was friendly and helpful, room was clean, pool and ocean were clean, we felt completely safe. It's the typical Punta Cana resort, with various bars, constant party music, silly and innocent daytime entertainment, and touristy shops. While there are almost always people walking up and down the beach trying to sell you something (cigars, paintings, photo op with a parrot, etc), they are respectful and easily take "no thank you" for an answer and quickly move on. While the place is not a whole lot to brag about, it's definitely not much to complain about either. The one thing I will advise against is the scuba diving through the dive shop there. My partner is thankfully a very experienced diver, but the kids and I were brand new to this experience. In short, we had a brief training/lesson in a swimming pool and then were taken out into the ocean for a quick, guided dive. My husband was horrified and embarrassed at how the whole thing was run. First, he said that many things were skipped over in the lesson before the ocean dive. Second apparently it's unusual for first time divers to carry their own equipment from the shop, onto the boat, and then be strapped into the boat with their equipment still on while you are driven out to sea. The tanks that we were given before the ocean dive weren't full, and mine was about 90% empty by the time the dive was over. The reef was mostly dead and there really wasn't much to see. It was a disappointing experience.

Staff was great to accommodate my error of booking at Occidental Punta Cana when I should have been at Occidental al Caribe with rest of family. They refunded my cash payment even if I had already checked in.

The resort itself is pretty but, overall, I was disappointed by frequent poor service- despite heavy tipping! They do not have liquor in the rooms but they were pretty good otherwise. You can smoke in various places where they provide ashtrays. We went as a group of 7 in 3 rooms but were not accommodated to all be beside each other. 2 rooms were next to each other and the 3rd was a short distance away. There were some exceptional employees but I only got one name for a kind server named Elsa. I spent a bundle here, doing a dolphin experience, shopped, ordered room service etc ...and they charged me for a glass missing from the room that likely was brought to one of our other rooms! Will definitely not return because of this.

My daughter and I loved Occidental Punta Cana: great staff, fun and friendly atmosphere, beautiful beach and clean rooms! Estafany at the front desk was wonderful, and Steavens was always super helpful. The location was great too - only 30 minutes from the airport.

Overall, my stay at your hotel was a good experience. The reception staff were very kind and helpful, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. In general, I was satisfied with the hotel facilities and atmosphere. However, I would like to share a few suggestions for improvement that I hope you will find helpful. In the food section, I believe it would be very beneficial to include beef or lamb dishes in the menu, as this is important for many guests. Additionally, I think more attention should be given to the behavior and training of some staff members. At first, I assumed this might be related to local culture, but after staying at other hotels and visiting different recreational places, I realized this was not the case. Therefore, with better training and more emphasis on courtesy and professionalism, the overall quality of service could be significantly improved. It is important for staff to understand that guests staying at this hotel have paid for their experience, and respectful and professional behavior plays a major role in encouraging more guests to choose this hotel in the future.

Spent a week at the Royal Club/Grand Level and really enjoyed the stay. Tried to eat at buffets and they were crowded and food was not very good. Glad we were in the Royal area to eat at restaurant. Hipolito-Sam 2.0 and Wendy - waiter 2 were very attentive and pleasant. Also the Royal Club bar is incredible. Enjoyed my expresso and baileys every morning and especially the expresso martinis! The bar staff is top notch. Pamela and Samuel always smiling and ready to get what you want. Incredible time with friends and our grandaughter. We also tried all of the ala cartes and our favorites were the Mexican and Oriental. The snack bar was ok but the pizza in the evening is awesome. This was our 6th visit to this resort and really enjoy the beach and staff.

We had a great time at Occidental Punta Cana! Beach was beautiful pools. Gorgeous. Very clean. Rooms were good. Food was okay. We really liked the Oriental restaurant. Wonton soup was fabulous late night. Food was really really good as well. What made our trip extra extra special was Steven's our Butler. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was excellent. We've traveled many places and never had such great service. Stevens was amazing!!! I wish we could have him on every trip.

Was a great time resort was beautiful we had Steven’s as our personal assistant/butler he was fantastic helped us with reservations and simply everything through the day. I would definitely recommend coming here with family/friends. The service was very quick for drinks and food. Our rooms where cleaned up everyday 10/10 resort.

Great trip all around had a blast. Great employees and workers here. The guys trying to sell stuff around the resort were a bit much
