"Disappointing Stay"

2.0

Staff was not well trained. Hotel stay was not a luxury experience. Four Seasons Santa Fe hotel is an all around better value.

"BISHOPS LODGE IS ABOUT TO DUMP 60,000 GALLONS OF TOXIC WASTE PER DAY IN THE LOCAL WATER SYSTEM"

2.0

I have both stayed at Bishops Lodge as a guest and taken many friends there as guests for brunch and dinner. Bishops Lodge is owned by Juniper Capital, a hedge fund with over $ 1.5 billion in capital. They are about to destroy the local community by dumping up to 60,000 gallons of toxic waste into the Tesuque River. Please do not patronize this place. It is another example of corporate greed ruining a community for profit. They are intentionally overstating what their "state-of-the-art" sewage plant can do. It is NOT safe, there is NO oversight, and it will ruin the groundwater in the community. Please do not support this pace.

"Horse back riding tour"

10.0

Horseback Riding tour is outstanding! Emma, the guide, made the tour personal from the start, she shared history about Santa Fe, the beautiful trees and breathtaking views of the mountains! The 2-hour ride was the perfect length—peaceful and scenic as we travelled through tall pine trees, crossed a gentle creek, smelling in the fresh mountain air. My horse was steady, calm, and well-trained, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a memorable, relaxing, and authentic Santa Fe horse riding tour.

"Loved Our Bishop’s Lodge Family Vacation"

10.0

Wonderful stay at the exceptional Bishop’s Lodge near Santa Fe. Superb, friendly, warm, courteous service from every person we interacted with at the front desk, valet, restaurants and bars, and the swimming pool. Excellent, flawless housekeeping as well. Outstanding food and drink at the restaurant and cafe. All bright, bold, fresh, healthy, artful and creative — and as good or better than any of the very good restaurants we went to in downtown Santa Fe. The resort has soul and color and feels unique and special throughout. Just a 10-12 minute drive to Santa Fe and so much nicer to stay out in the beautiful rolling hills than to stay downtown. Could not recommend more highly.

"Comfortable elegance"

10.0

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at Bishop's Lodge. I can be a tough customer but was thoroughly impressed at every turn. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and competent. I appreciated all of the attention to design details. Our room and view were pretty spectacular. Pool was great, and the yoga was better than "resort yoga" usually is. We loved our meals at Skyfire - delicious and amazing staff. Hope to return again soon.

"Amazingly Beautiful Resort in need of more Staff (during busier periods)"

8.0

Bishop's Lodge is a beautiful resort that truly emulates the feel of Santa Fe. The grounds and rooms are beautiful and clean. It provides for some of the most stunning views and will continue being a place we frequent. Our only complaint and why we don't give it 5 starts is that this particular time, they seemed understaffed which somewhat impacted our overall experience with service at the pool, bar and restaurant. Normally we visit in August and this year we went in June. It could have been due to more events and same amount of staff as there were multiple group bookings and a wedding this time.

The check in slow ,nobody at the front door of the property in order to helpi with your belongs. I believe checking time should be sooner, not 4 pm, though I got the room 2 hrs before 4 pm Other side the check out was to early 11 am we have to call to make it one hour later The room service choices were poor The phone in the room didn’t work properly and they have to delivery the food on the bench because they didn’t bring a table for this type of service

"Truly disappointing. Stay elsewhere."

2.0

I really wanted to love Bishop’s Lodge. I grew up visiting before it became an Auberge property and was hoping for a sense of nostalgia paired with elevated service. Unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. Over several days, getting in and out of the resort was consistently painful. The valet station was unmanned almost every time we arrived or departed. We had to go find someone to retrieve our car, and twice it was mislabeled. On departure, I called 40 minutes ahead to request our bags and car for a 7:50am pickup. No one came. When we walked down, it turned out the request hadn’t even been put in. The person who eventually helped us forgot a bag and couldn’t figure out how to close the trunk—then simply walked away. Room service and requests took at least 45 minutes, even for something as simple as a morning coffee. The resort layout has no flow, which only amplifies how long everything takes. For $1,000 a night, this is just unacceptable. Design-wise, the place feels disjointed and underwhelming—not the elevated or relaxing atmosphere one would expect from a luxury property. The only redeeming feature is the view, which is beautiful. But that alone doesn’t justify the cost or the hassle. Adding insult to injury, there were daily protests outside the resort about water pollution caused by the property. It’s a poorly run operation and apparently an environmental mess to boot. Truly disappointing. Stay elsewhere.
