Residence Inn by Marriott Saddle River

Great place and very convenient

Room was clean. Air conditioner was hard to control. I like it cold, being from Texas, but arctic would better describe the air. Set at 75 it felt kore like 65. The A/C kept coming on. The hallway was stinky from people cooking in their rooms. Understandable with full kitchens, but why use carpet? Once you got i to the room it wasn’t an issue, water pressure was good. Pillows ok, bed good.

The front desk was fine but they told us there were no clean rooms when we checked in at 4p. We had driven for 10 hours and were asked to hang around and wait. We had booked months in advance and are Platinum members. When we got to our room there were no towels, the windows were stuck open with ac hanging out. The room smelled like urine and it was filthy! This place is so outdated and a fire hazard. It should be condemned! Would not recommend!!

An overall good choice if you're staying in Northern NJ, or even looking for a staging area for day trips to NYC. Quiet suburban location. The one-bedroom suite was large and comfortable. Service was good to excellent. On the downside, the rooms could use a makeover, ( a little tired looking). They still follow the COVID protocol of not making up the room each day. With Bonvoy status, they made an exception. Marriott has started an annoying practice of charging for overnight parking in North Jersey properties. This one is included.
