Homewood Suites by Hilton Southwind - Hacks Cross

Perfect location. I stay at this property all the time for the location. This is not the first or 2nd time I had a bad experience here and I have come back for the location but I will start exploring other options moving forward.

This trip I feel I was double charged. Now I am waiting for 2 deposits to come off my card. When I called and asked the staff they said that was normal but I’ve never heard that before. My sister was an DOS for Hilton for years and we have never experienced 2 hold just because we got 2 rooms but maybe things have changed. I felt like staff was not being honest. When I checked in the staff made me go all the back to my car so I could show her on booking .com that I canceled one of my reservations even though I told her. I’m not sure why it mattered I was only checking in to one reservation which had 2 rooms. Then when we got in the room the toilet was broken and because I have owned a few homes I knew how to left up the back of the toilet and adjust it so the toilet would at stop running it was so loud and prevented us from getting sleep. Then while we were there I saw 3 roaches one was dead in the room when we arrived which made me question if they had cleaned the room well before we arrived.

Great value. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

There were roaches in the kitchen area and in the dishwasher. I booked a suite and when I got there they didn't have my suite available, I had to get a studio instead.

I loved the location of the property.

There were two roaches crawling on the bed. I asked to be moved to a different room. They didn’t have another suite available just a studio. There was a bug in that room on the ceiling. There was also “roach skin” on the sheets.

This hotel is not worth the $200/night (includes fees). Room did not have dish soap (there’s a kitchen), no hand soap in the rest room, wall paper peeling, ripped blankets with burn holes, 2 pot lids but no pots, 1 spoon and 2 forks, random dishes. Dirty stove burners, stains on the chair, chairs with peeling material. It was a mess. Betty was very nice with the breakfast service though. There’s no safe in the room as well, just FYI. We won’t visit that location again and will not recommend it.

BAD. Dishonest to tout this as a HILTON property. Shame on Hilton to let this go on. Hilton has really damaged their brand with this property.

Staff: Extremely helpful and friendly. I will give them that. Very accommodating. Gave us everything we asked for timely. Location: Nothing to say, but felt safe. We are from Illinois, so location was ok, I guess. I was glad there were many stores to choose from. Value: Could be cheaper considering it an old hotel that needs to be upgraded asap. Room: I have a lot to say, but considering the recently submitted reviews, we still decided to stay there. I went to the store to get Cleaning supplies because you all need to be ashamed to put guests in dirty looking/dirty rooms. Kitchen - not cleaned. Frig door dirty. Floors dirty. The table chairs need to be replaced. Peeling and dirty. Let Out Bed: Upon inspection, STAINS were on the sheets AND the mattress. I immediately took off and requested a new clean set. The housekeeper seemed upset because she ‘claimed’ she just cleaned it and that was ‘rust’ on the sheets. I can’t make this up. -Curtains had visible stains. How hard is it to wash them? -Ceiling fans full of dirt…thick dirt -Bugs/dirt on window seal. Shameful -Every lap had stains I was able to wipe off with Clorox wipes so no excuse -Shower head should be deep cleans or replaced -Toilet needs a good cleaning -Stains on sheets/sheet covers in main bedroom. -Carpet should be replaced or deep cleaned (and in the hallways) -The ironing board holder just fell out of the wall without using.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The hotel is poorly maintained. One of the 2 burners on the stove did not work. Chairs seats are pealing. Floor was swept but filthy. The bottoms of my feet were black when I entered the shower.

Everything was good. No complaints. They have a whole kitchenette with dishes and fridge. Nice comfortable bed. The breakfast was good and hot.
