Homewood Suites by Hilton Southwind - Hacks Cross

The location and the breakfast.

The refrigerator/freezer didn't work. Reported this to the lady cleaning the rooms. Nothing was done about it. The bathroom was dirty. Clearly a female had used the commode and there were urine stains around the rim of the bowl. The no smoking policy is not enforced, cause you could clearly smell smoke. This is the worst Homewood Suites I've ever stayed!!

I was not happy at all with the smell of weed as soon as I parked my car and opened the door. Also, my room smelled like urine and as if someone tried to deodorize but did not work completely. I did not ask to move because I was wayyy too tired from a long drive and the rest of the room appeared clean, specially the bed. The hotel needs a major upgrade. The leather on the chairs were peeling terribly, cabinets were old. On my way back through, I did not return to this hotel.

Mold in bathroom. Let out bed had several crumbs in bed sheets. Was out of blankets for the let out bed. Chairs was taped with electrical tape to attempt to fix. Sink was dirty. Dirty dish in the microwave. Front desk was nice and friendly.

Where to begin? Ok…this was a 6 night stay. Upon check in, I went through the entire process, only to be told that I had to go next door to the Hampton, because the Homewood had “maintenance issues”. Fine. I go next door and do the entire process again. The next day, I am to finish out my stay at the Homewood. I went to check in at 6pm. (Yes, had to do it again). However, at 6pm, there weren’t any rooms available. I was told it would be a 15 minute wait. Well, that wait took until 9:30pm., only to get a room with mediocre air conditioning. The floors don’t seem to get vacuumed, and nothing feels “clean”. It’s more like, “wiped down”. - Not a great stay. The staff takes no accountability and I really don’t think they have a full roster of housekeepers. It’s our hard-earned money. I’m not going to give it away to folks that have no integrity.

The hotel's exterior is beautiful. Unfortunately, it is dirty and has bed bugs. 1) The interior (hallways/elevators) was dirty, and no AC (only lobby/rooms) 2) The room had bed bugs 3) The room wasn’t clean, hair on all the surfaces, and food crumbs behind the doors. 4) The room didn’t have any towels available When we arrived, we wanted to shower after a long travel day, but there were no towels. We called the desk, and they said they had no clean towels for us either and had no idea when we would have some. The next day, the tournament started at 7 am, and it was 8 p.m. While sorting the towel issues, we checked the bed, pulling up the sheets and skirt between the mattress, and found active bed bugs crawling around. We took photos, grabbed our stuff, and checked out.

Neighborhood.

The front desk staff was unfriendly, unhelpful, and minimally responsive. Many features throughout the property were either malfunctioning or completely inoperative, with outdated and broken items visible everywhere (including chairs, outlets, and wallpaper). The air conditioning was excessively noisy, and the bed sheets, though supposedly clean, were dirty and torn.

Place was very outdated. The room stunk very badly when you walked in. Missing things in the room even no remote was missing and front desk had me to come get one instead of them bringing it. Found someone else medicine container under side table. Definitely won’t stay there again!
