Stay Express Inn & Suites Demopolis

I use Hotel.Com for al my stays. I normally give the benefit of doubt to the property and give a decent or better review. This was a disaster from the moment I walked in and got a 15 minute lecture on the evils of Hotel.com. He wanted to tel me boking.com was where I needed to book at. He said he had Hotel.com rooms and boking.com rooms. He gave us a rom that had 3 towels in the front of the bath vanity soaking up water, the air conditioner was molded and dirty, the smell was horrendous and the bath was filthy. I went back to the office and asked if that was the only rom he had. He said that was a Hotel.com rom because they did not pay as much as Boking.com He then moved us to another rom that was some better. He said this was not normally for Hotel.com customers but he would make an exception . I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay while I remodel a cabin. THIS IS DEFINATLY TAKEN OF THE LIST. RUDE AND JUST PLAN MEAN PERSON OWNS THIS PROPETY.

They are working on improving the facilities and they still have some work ahead of them.

The property was fine travelocity never sent the motel anything saying i booked it so i had to pay again and travelocity took my money but wont answer phone

Room was not clean 1st room was smoked filled with raggedy and unclean furniture and burn holes all over carpet 2nd room black mold around the tub and walls it rained and the floor became very wet. Had to stay because they refused to give my money back I do not recommend this hotel, motel to anyone. The owner was not a pleasant or professional person, he knew how his rooms were and because I went thru a site and he doesn't get the full price he gives you an inferior room,most of his rooms are inferior

No extra towels when requested and the room was very Smokey

Carpet was so dirty near the door it felt as if it stuck to my feet. Check in was a bit of an ordeal

Greenwood Inn and Suites is NOT up to par anymore. First off, we booked thinking it was still the Best Western, which it isn’t. They do not even manage this establishment anymore, and now I know why. We booked for MVSU homecoming. The bathroom still had the previous guest’s belongings in the shower and the room was semi cleaned. It looked like they “straightened” up to accommodate more guests because of the type of weekend(homecoming), and they knew guests would need a place to stay. We were in and out our room all weekend, kindly asking housekeeping to provide clean towels and a clean room as we passed her. The entire weekend, OUR ROOM WAS NOT SERVICED! When i complained to the front desk clerk, she stated, “You must of had do not disturb on your door”. I kindly told her no ma’am! The staff were not doing what they needed to do! For the price we paid, we could have at least got clean towels. Next, i asked for a manger, they told me his name was Rick! RUDEST MANAGER EVER! When I complained about our service and HIS STAFF! He basically treated it as an oh well, stating that since I’m checking out, there is nothing he can do! As I explained, we were in and out, it’s homecoming and I didn’t know I needed to micromanage his employees for him! He was not accommodating AT ALL! Several guests complained that their room was not serviced and nasty all weekend. That is unacceptable for guests and customer service was definitely an issue as the lady tonya was also being rude! I would not recommend this hotel if you were on your dying bed and needed a place to rest, please consider booking elsewhere!!

I liked everything. It was quiet and peaceful. I would stay there again when I return to Demopolis.

Do not use hotels.com to check into this hotel. Do not use any booking site. If you absolutely must stay here pay at the hotel. But only stay here if you absolutely must. The night manager kept me from my room from 8:30om until almost 10:30pm arguing with hotels.com over his pay rate. To their credit, hotels.com did give me a voucher for a free night at another hotel, even after the night manager finally let me into my room. Even without that, I still wouldn't recommend staying here. Spend just a few more dollars and go up the road to the name brand hotel. At least their toilets don't wobble.

Looking to save $$$ this motel is OK. Saved $150 for 8 night stay vs other motels in the area.
