We booked for a room with two beds (1 double and 1 single) as we were 3 people. We were given a room with only 1 bed. When we complained about it, only then they have changed it. We should have received the right room from the beginning what we have booked for. Secondly the room was noisy since all fans of the service centre was next to the room. It was a worm evening/night, and we could not close the window as there was no air conditioner in the room.

"Clean, quiet"

Hotel was OK, clean and convenient location for Oxford. Staff were all Asian and had no idea about wine etc ( as they stated they dont drink !). Perhaps put someone behind the bar that has some experience or training.

Nice clean hotel, room was a nice size, stayed for 2 nights the only downfall was that the room didn't get cleaned nor did the tea / coffee / milk replenished. Also, on the Sunday morning woke up to no electric or water, but that did come back on after about 5 mins, but not sure for how long prior to that it was off.

"Not given what I paid for"

Booked a family room that was meant to have one double bed, one single bed and one double sofa bed. We did not get the double sofa bed, or any kind of sofa bed. Instead, we got a naff single put me up bed. Not what we paid for. Arrived at 10pm due to traffic and check in staff were rude/non responsive so there was no chance of any help from them. So I contacted hotels.com and “Tom” spent ages not reading what the issue was and asking me to repeat myself so wasted time for anything to be done as it was nearing midnight by the time I’d had enough. We specifically booked this room for double beds to make our night more comfortable and we did not get that. Terrible, not as advertised and I will be getting a refund

Having stayed at this hotel for a second time, its primary draw remains its undeniably convenient location, particularly as part of a service stop. This makes it a practical choice for those on the move. Unfortunately, the overall state of the rooms continues to be a significant letdown. My first stay revealed rooms that were noticeably tired and in need of updating. Thankfully, on this occasion, I was moved to a room that had clearly undergone some modernisation, which was a welcome improvement. However, it's important to note that the standard of rooms appears to be inconsistent, and the lack of a lift could pose a challenge for some guests. On-site parking is available, which is a plus, but be warned that the car park is often busy, and the spaces are surprisingly small, even for a mid-sized modern vehicle. Furthermore, being situated within a service stop means that the adjacent food options come with typical motorway service prices, and there are no alternative dining choices within easy walking distance. The contents of the rooms also seem to vary. While my previous stay included an iron and ironing board, this time the ironing board was absent. The shower flow was also rather weak on both occasions. This time, the shower cubicle had a shower curtain, suggesting the glass door may have been out of order for some time, although it was still perfectly functional.
