Elysian Beach Resort

Very nice and comfy room with balcony, excellent restaurant on premise (Caribbean Fish Market), nice little beach and swimming pool.

Property was clean.

The staff in the front reception area very rude.

Do not stay, such a dump. Overall looked like a great place from pictures but once onsite it’s not as advertised. We’ve lost power and internet access multiple times during stay yet we have to pay a daily power fee. Don’t sound right.. Pool was the main reason we booked but there is no water ? Not even waste deep so not able to swim. Guest service is pointless, asked them about the pool and pretty much was told it is what it is yet the bar staff told me they know about the issues as there is a leak in the pool and the use water trucks to keep filling it up. If you want a pool then would advise against booking here. Rooms are sad, rusty refrigerators, bathrooms are odd with open windows to the walkway lacking privacy. No ac in bathrooms. Restaurant at resort are way overpriced and not worth the value. Would recommend eating out. Bartender at pool bar not very friendly, must only want to cater to owners or full time residents as he seemed very annoyed when trying to order a drink.

The Elysian is located in great proximity to the red hook ferry- great for folks seeking St. John and Thomas adventures. The staff are incredibly helpful and will do everything possible to ensure you have what you need.

Upon arrival and checking in we went to our room and noticed that there was a murphy bed and not a king size bed we requested when we made reservations approximately five months prior. This room also was at the very top of the property (bldg W) that's on a hill. To get to the pool and beach requires three flights of stairs. I'm 77 years old and have had three back operations so stairs and a murphy bed is a problem. We asked for another room with a kitchenette and king bed that we reserved and they said they were completely booked so no other rooms available. This property is not only a time share but has full time ownership so rooms are very limited. If not for booking this hotel with five other groups for a 60th birthday celebration, we would have found another resort close by. A few things to consider, there is no sound proofing in the walls so you here your neighbors clearly. Room service is once a week. There's nothing in walking distance so you have to take taxis every where. The beach is OK but recommend water shoes because of rocky bottom. Pool is nice and restaurants are very good. We would never stay at this resort again.
