Breakfast excellent so nice and well cooked in a lovely dining room the location was lovely

Bed was a bit too firm for me but that’s just personal preference, the room was generally clean but needed some much needed dusting and general updating eg painting etc.

We spoke with many members of staff throughout our stay—from housekeeping to reception—and without exception, everyone was polite, courteous, and a credit to the hotel. The dining staff in particular delivered absolutely fantastic service. Overall, the level of care we received was exceptional. As we were on a romantic long weekend, we felt very well looked after, and in almost every respect the service felt closer to a higher-end experience—at times approaching what you might expect from a 7-star standard. Aside from the issue mentioned regarding dinner reservations, the team were outstanding. During our stay, one aspect that slightly detracted from what was otherwise a relaxing experience was the handling of dinner reservations. Being asked once whether we planned to dine in the restaurant is, of course, perfectly reasonable. However, after explaining that we preferred to keep our evenings flexible—as this was a romantic break—we found ourselves being asked repeatedly by different members of staff for specific times. While I appreciate the need for planning, the frequency of these requests began to feel a little pushy, particularly as we had already made it clear that we would either come down when ready or dine out if no space was available. On one occasion, when we did try to contact reception from our room to check availability, there was no answer. We also attempted to call the main line from a mobile and reached an answering machine. This was frustrating, especially given the earlier persistence in requesting set times. A more flexible and coordinated approach would have better suited the nature of our stay and improved the overall experience.

From Checking in the friendly staff to showing us to our rooms in the morning the breakfast was absolutely fantastic such a choice and cooked beautifully the staff were so helpful polite would definitely stay here again
