Phone to reception did not seem to work as well as hot water tap and toilet runs - but still got a good night sleep was there 2 days all the same problems there the second night as well no report back to me as to why they were not fixed the second time I reported it the person was not aware of the problem that I complained about on the first day.

The evening meal was so good and the setting was so restful and quiet. The staff were friendly.

I was unable to turn off the radiator as the valve was broken. I only noticed before I was going to bed early at 9:30 pm and so slept with the heating on, and didn't alert the reception. I woke early as a result and should have checked the valve earlier on check-in, so something to consider next time. The full English breakfast was a disappointment as the sausages were not cooked well, and it tasted bland throughout. Great coffee though.

Friendly staff, getting showed to the room was a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious. Comfortable bed.

Could not fault anything except all photos on booking.com show a bath with a shower. Even the wording says a bath and a shower for facilities under room description. I always prefer a room with a bath. Unfortunately I landed up with a room with a shower only. That maybe needs to be corrected on the website. Would stay again but make sure I request a bath.

Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful when needed. Felt like home and they ensured we were comfortable.

The water took a long time to heat up from the sink and shower. It was also very cold in my room and the heater didn’t turn up very high. The other members in my group didn’t have that issue though.

The breakfast was excellent. A variety of options served by friendly staff. All staff were helpful and made us feel at home.Beds were very comfy . Nice touches included a coffee machine .The grounds were lovely- especially as we were with dogs .

There has been some renovation in the hotel but the decor around parts of the hotel needed updated . The bedroom had frayed curtains and worn carpets . As we had the dogs with at least we didn’t feel they would damage anything.

A warm welcome and very helpful team, especially the lady on duty for bar and then back for breakfast, very attentive

Room was a little scruffy but expected of a premises of this age, clean and comfortable
