The location was suitable for my purposes, near the interstate and the Truman library and home, with restaurants and gas stations near by.

There’s a surprise $20 per room night charge that must be paid in cash. The owner said it was to off-set the online booking fee that the hotel pays the service for selling its rooms for it. There’s also a cash only damage deposit of $100 per adult and $50 per child that is not disclosed until after you’ve completed your non-refundable reservation. The bathroom had not been thoroughly cleaned. The room and the entire place smelled of mold and mildew. The double beds had only 2 small pillows each. I didn’t see any breakfast but another guest reported he saw a few cookies and brownies, certainly not what you’d expect nor enough for a hotel full of guests. I had to explicity ask the owner to return my damage deposit, he knew it was due to me but he made me ask for it.

Staff was rude on arrival. Accommodations were old and dated: bathroom tub didn’t drain, air conditioner was loud, tv services were not good. Pool was closed. Grossly overpriced.

The location to the stadium was decent

Very run down. Pillow was extremely flat. Bed sunk into the middle. Floor was sticky and didn’t wanna walk around without shoes. Constant door slamming and loudness in hallways. Rough crowd in and around the place
