Really central location in Hale and just 10 mins walk to Altrincham does all the basic needs of a good budget hotel

It was good basic and cheap , so if your looking for somewhere just to stay it does the job

if you find climbing stairs a problem, beware for you have to climb a short flight to get to the lift

Very run down hotel in a great area, not worth the money.

No air con and unable to open windows - we was given fans that did not work. Rooms not cleaned every day. Hot water was not ways available- cold showers. Calls from the reception during the night - wrong room. Bank card stolen by other guest - manager got it back. Swingers meet during our stay - no discretion and very noisy.

The hotel generally was not that clean. I had a leaky sink which would have left a puddle on the floor each time I used it had I not used a glass to catch the water, and despite this being obvious the cleaning staff never removed the glass for the time I stayed there. I should also point out that this glass had been left in my bathroom with a weird unknown blue goop in it, or which I still don't know what it quite was. The wifi was hit and miss, I was actually told that if the wifi went down, to use the M&S wifi next door. There was also no soaps or anything provided in the bathroom. Most of the breakfast dishes/set-up could have done with a pre-clean also.

Check in was incredibly slow, we stood for almost 15 mins while the receptionist dealt with a phone call. First room of our two night stay was very run down and the window couldn't be opened and the weather was very hot. Light fixtures were either hanging off or had no bulbs in. No loo paper or toiletries. The second room, they kindly moved us to on the 3rd floor had no wifi, again a really tired room, broken fixtures, ripped curtains and generally poorly maintained. The only poor housekeeper we saw on all the floors seemed to be totally overwhelmed but very helpful and courteous. We felt for him. The place needs an overhaul or a bulldozer. But then the price did reflect it's condition.

Used for airport as much cheaper than hotels nearer. Taxi £11.
