Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club

We love this hotel. Great location away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful beach and pools. Good choices of restaurants on property & nearby. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 was that you had to hunt for a place to sit around the pool. To many people saving places. Also the hotel is starting to show its age. Still beautiful just dated and wear & tear.

This is extremely expensive for what you get. Our first room we checked into had a handicapped bathroom with no tub (my wife and I are both 30). We asked if they could move us to a normal room and the only one available was a view of the parking lot (no big deal). The shower in the second room had a head that has worn out over the years and just falls straight down, and only some of the outlets worked but it was better than the bathroom with the plastic chair so we stuck with it. The exterior of the property is pretty but they have policy’s and operations that make staying here anything but pleasant. You are given towel cards at the beginning of your stay which are redeemable for 1 beach towel at a time. When you return the towel you get your card back. If you are not able to produce your cards at the end of the stay you are charged $25 per card for the theft of a towel. Make sure to bring a bag to hide your towel in otherwise there’s a fair chance it’ll get swiped by other guests while you’re swimming and you’ll end up paying the $25. The beach chairs here have cushions built into the woven netting so they all absorb water overnight and are sopping wet until around noon the following day. If you enjoy sitting in the shade make sure to bring your own chairs otherwise there’s a high likelihood you’ll get soaked as soon as you sit down. It might sound like a joke but a number of guest here brought their own beach chairs to the lagoon (probably for this reason). Save your money

There is a store that sells from breakfast to frozen food and most of the basic needs. Two options of restaurants, I would like if there was a third option too. The room has excellent space and has a kitchen with the basic tools. The room is a bit dated if we consider its design but is very comfortable. It is very good if you are seeking for a secluded place to stay away from the busy Waikiki area. I’m looking forward to return.

Good resort. Don’t expect special treatment from the front desk staff. Others around the resort were helpful and courteous. I may or may not return - will see how I feel after another week on site. Timeshare Owners are strongly encouraged to attend the owners “update” meeting and get special perks if they show up for the 90 minute sales pitch. Personally, I don’t like the push.

We would highly recommend this resort. We stayed in a studio. It had a kitchenette. Be sure to ask for a blender (they deliver it to your room) to enjoy frozen drinks. If you are an elite member, be forewarned that you do not get your normal elite benefits at this resort (no free breakfast, no late checkout, etc). We knew this going in. We shopped at the nearby Costco to stock up and eat our meals in the room (roughly $10 Uber ride). Pro tip, the bell desk even has refrigerators to keep your perishables cold while you either wait for your room or you continue to enjoy the resort after you check out. Although you don’t get a late check out, you can play in the resort and get access to a key to the locker room to freshen up if needed.

We splurged by booking a couples massage at the so-called Spa By The Sea. Not a spa experience, more akin to a hurried massage in a fitness club, at best.p00 No robes, slippers or refreshing drink. The cabanas were worn, not tidy or clean. Disrobed in the cabana by placing clothing on plastic folding chair. Given a bottle of Walmart water after massage. Total waste of precious time and money.

Great Place, awesome location. Friendly staff

Unit had dirty dishes in cabinet from former occupant -when we asked for them to replace them they said we could clean the dirty ones as there was dish soap there. Room had slow drains, and was generally in poor shape. No one monitors the pools (staff do go scan a pole to show they were there but don’t take care of anything), Hot tubs supposed to be 13+ or 10+ with an adult… yet full of little kids unsupervised with parents lounging. If this all sounds appealing… they’ll try to convince you to be an “owner” but refuse to answer questions about maintenance fees. Take your cash down the beach to the Four Seasons or a luxury AirB&B.
