Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club

20 plus years owner here. Very disappointed in the unit condition. Beat up cabinets, furniture and totally dated look. Towels are thin. Everything about the unit, decor and condition is below ordinary. Pool areas crowded. Hang out at the beach lagoon to avoid the crowds. Best thing about the resort is the lovely staff. Friendly, helpful and welcoming. Aloha. Stay elsewhere for more upscale vacation.

Fantastic facilities and service. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. Well-maintained grounds. The views are stunning, especially of the sunset if you have an ocean view The number of activities really differentiates this place from local resorts. Kudos to Melvin Sacco who went above and beyond on the activities front. One of the real perks is location close by Costco, which has some the fairest prices on food and gas. There is also a walkable nearby mart, which is convenient. If you’re looking for a high end family paradise vacation, this is the place to go

We are booking room with mount view. But they put us in first level(underground!!!) we cant see nothing even sky. Was good check-in she change our room to 3-d floor with parking view. so Im not happy, description was wrong.

We had difficulties entering the parking garage. We had to go to the front desk at least 3 times to get our card rebooted and eventually changed. It didn't work until the last evening we were there. Was a bit of a hassle.

Wonderful 2nd stay at Ko Olina Marriott. From check in to check out it was perfect. Great rooms, great pillows, linens,amenities, washer dryer, laundry soap, coffee, everything included, great staff, Maile toiletries. 4 or 5 pools, 6 hot tubs, towel stations throughout, plenty of lawn and beach chairs with shade and sun. Soft sandy private cove for swimming. Walking in you feel an instant warmth and welcome. Longhis restaurant is delicious. We made leis, a weekly Luau is offered. We did yoga, Pilates, stretching. So many activities. Lots of responsible families with children. We didn’t have kids but never felt over whelmed . The resort is great for families, friends, couples. There’s even a separate quiet “adult “ pool . Bonus: walk over on the path to paradise cove to snorkel with the sea turtles. There are turtles in the Marriott cove but Paradise has more. Mahalo

Location, quality of facility

High pressure sales for Marriott Vacation Club. Your team needs to learn how to sell value, rather than use coercion, persistence, and even in some cases ridicule to "close a deal". I realize I have a choice to participate in sales pitches and therefore I chose to put myself in that situation. However, in doing so I wrecked my stay. I left having had a very bad experience with no desire to return to the property

The good news: I was notified via email there may be not ocean view (that I booked for $1K/night) but eventually did get a room that wasn't nearly as bad as I was told to expect. It seems they lowered my expectations so I would be happy to get the room I got. The bad news: I booked this 6 months in advance and pre-paid $1K/night for a Ko Olina Beach Resort "Ocean View" room. I was notified by email 3 weeks before our arrival date that "Ocean View rentals may be obstructed and only offer limited water views or include courtyard or pool views." What?? Why are you told that an "Ocean View" room you booked 6 months before isn't really available? In addition they wrote: "Preferences for room locations go to to Marriott Vacation Club Owners. Higher floors and prime views cannot be accommodated." Again what??? I am not well versed on beach clubs, which are evidently pre-owned (my bad!) and can prevent you from renting higher floors with prime views. And one more email notification: "Rental room locations are primarily assigned to lower floors, 1st through 4th floors in all building locations." Once again, really?? The rooms from 4th floor and below offer no view of the ocean because it is obstructed by other buildings. In the end, we received an 8th floor room with partial ocean view - you could only view the ocean standing on the balcony looking through 2 tall buildings.

the location is far from the hustle and buzzle of downtown Honolulu.
