The Victorian House

Very central property for city centre. Really helpful staff too!

I had a pleasant stay as I was only staying overnight on way to Loch Lomond. Easy to find and walking distance from station. Breakfast was provided in bag in dining room, due to Covid situation. Staff were helpful and my room was better than I thought. All in all, a pleasant stay in quiet area and very economical.

We turned up to our room wich was still unmade from the guests before, no tosels in the roo either. Wewere moved to aslightly better room, room 42 ,but the tv was faulty. I woud not recommend staying here

Everything was good and very good price, nice receptionist and gerneraly a good place to stay.

Loved the Asian receptionist with the glasses as this is my third stay at the property as he's always a pleasure to be greeted by him as he's lovely to talk to and get help from and despite the climb up the concrete steps to the property from the street this place is handy for people like myself with moderate disabilities and being part of the LGBT+ community they always do their best to help me have a great stay every time, Nice rooms and not far from Sauciehall street with great places to eat and Glasgow Cathedral and George Square are a 15 minute walk from the Victorian House. Only two negatives the first are the large hills to walk up to the property but Glasgow is built on hills . Second negative is a dark haired Scottish lady receptionist at The Victorian House who tends to growl at guests, isn't very friendly or approachable and needs work on her people skills on how to greet and be nice to guests ! As I'm part of the LGBT + community it's a delight to find somewhere that accepts minorities and makes you glad to stay and feel safe . During these times of COVID-19 Pandemic I like to support businesses that welcome disabled people and LGBT+ people and support both the minorities I belong too and would rather support a small hotel like The Victorian House and hire a room to stay with such a place than a chain owned hotel as big hotels tend to be impersonal and cold to people and customers in my experience as a regular traveller. Keep up the good work

The Hotel ease extremely dirty, I can't even describe how bad a feel sleeping in there. First the room was extremely dirty with no shampoo etc... The coffee powder was expired... The toilet wall was extremely dirty with yellow drops. The room was extremely dirty with staff of other people in there, and bunny dusty from ages, we found the biggest spider I saw in all my life. The curtains... What a disgusting think to open and close in the morning.... Also apart of that we spent just 1 night and from 10pm to 01:00am we had a noisy guys outside the hotel screaming drunk. Of course from the beginning I thought ok... What can the hotel do... But... Surprise! The guy was from the hotel, I called reception and they spoke with them (only good thing). In the morning the poorest and disgusting breakfast. I understand that is Covid 19 happening but... Honestly you can buy even a sandwich or something else than a orange juice from Poundland. Ah! If you are not afraid of Covid 19 this is your place because anyone wear a face mask!! Please if you love yourself do not choose this place!
