Our rehearsal dinner at Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort was absolutely perfect. The venue was beautiful, the staff was incredibly attentive, and everything was executed seamlessly. Even when it started raining, the team was fully prepared and handled everything flawlessly. We felt so taken care of and couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

The only thing that was a little annoying was my cousin and I were pretty much ignored both times we went to eat at Meso. The first time we ate there the second time we walked away after being ignored and people that came after us were waited on before us. I guess New place is perfect.

Staying at this hotel requires a tradeoff: great beach access vs. excessive noise levels. Our room was on the 8th floor on the NW corner of the building. The room was clean and well laid out. Comfortable beds and more than ample drawer and closet space. The bathroom was one of the best designed spaces from a functional perspective that I have ever seen in a hotel. Plenty of counter space, good hook placement, and a shower with sliding glass doors. There's even a foot rest built into the shower stall that comes in handy for washing off all that suntan lotion from your legs. Rooms come with small balconies. Ours overlooked an adjacent condo building and rooftops below that housed very noisy AC equipment. Adding to the noise was the in-room HVAC unit. Turning the unit off did not solve the noise problem because the room also got the noise from the unit in the adjoining room. (I was told that the hotel is installling a central system that will substantially reduce the noise level.) If your budget permits, upgrade to a room fully facing the beach on the other side of the building. The hotel has a great lobby area with a circular bar and an attractive restaurant. Like most of the hotels on the Isla Verde strip, you can spend some time contributing to the PR economy in the hotel casino. What, I think, sets the Courtyard apart is the hotel's proximity to the public beach. The beach area is a few feet away from the restaurant outdoor seating area and and the pool area. Access to the beach at some of the other hotels is not as convenient. The staff was friendly and attentive. Special shout out to Fernando who made everyone feel welcome in the pool area. As for the big tradeoff. The hotels in Isla Verde share the isthmus with SJU, the busy international airport. The Courtyard is located across the street from the main take-off runway. Landscaping blocks the view of the airport, but you will hear the roar of the planes throughout most of the day when you are at the pool, beach, or sitting on your room balcony. If you can get used to that (we did), then this is a four-star hotel. If not, this is a two-star hotel. The hotel is a short drive to Old San Juan (less than $20 by Lyft, which was cheaper than Uber) and other attractions in the area. Note: be prepared to pay a "resort fee" ($45) PER DAY. This fee may not be included in the price quoted when you book a reservation.

Well, checkin was smooth & the staff was very competent & professional with a huge side of friendly! Hotel was clean, ALL elevators worked great. Room was clean & all worked as advertised. They could have some more plugins for the tech & some place to put the coffee maker as there was no plug in close to it. Beds were comfy & the A/C could run on fan, which i love to get the white noise. Bar area had some big comfy chairs & the bar staff was great! The casino in the hotel was nice, good place to have a flutter of the cards or a spin of the wheels. Checkout was smooth. Uber could find it easily & pick up & drop off were good. I would have given it a 5 rating IF they had some more NON fried & heavy meat foods. Great place, I’ll return when back in the PR.

The cleaning service took things like sodas from our room. Used our towels found black hairs everywhere in our bathroom. Fridge didn’t work and spoiled our food .
