"We had a relaxing and adventurous experience"

8.0

Great room with air conditioning. Surrounded by trees. Could hear the ocean. Fun hiking trails with hotel guide Fredy. Great food. Friendly staff. We were warned to be prepared for mosquitos.

Should have warned us about chiggers on the trail to the 500 year old tree. Would be good to have handrails for stairs from the beach.

"Got Screwed! Mal Servicio!"

1.0

Nothing They robbed us.

No Ferry Service to the island. Charged us for the reservation after knowing that there was no ferry Service. Admitted that multiple people had the same complaint but would not reimburse that money.

The room was nice. The staff was very helpful

The facilities were clearly not well maintained, the swimming pool wasn’t clean. The beach in front of the hotel had a lot of waste so not very agreeable

Unfortunately, Saboga Lodge is far from 5 stars. There was no light in the bathroom, the balcony was dirty, the balcony door was very difficult to open (takes two persons), we had no access to the other part of the island (locked door), water was only available from 6 pm. Spider webs in the room. On top of that, i regularly get Whatsapp messages from the staff promoting the hotel.

"Disappointing"

4.0

The hotel is located on a very beautiful island. It's the only positive moment in my stay this time.

The hotel has problems with maintenance: the hotel beach and pool were dirty, and the AC was working on manual mode only. The fridge in the room was not functioning. Staff disappeared from time to time from the hotel. They don't have a normal shift system. Food in the restaurant was very disappointing, staff was telling that the menu is not correct and they didn't follow it. I compare my experience in the same place last year and this trip, and I see that level of service significantly dropped. After this trip, I will not recommend visiting Saboga Lodge to anyone.

Yes - No - Maybe!?! We were greeted at the Saboga pier by the hotel boat driver who later transported us to the lodge. Nice ride. Be ready to climb over 3 stories of stairs with your luggage from the beach to the reception desk with no assistance. The beach was full of trash and debris.Right away we were told there is a shortage of water and therefore no running water. We had a few drinks and then we were able to check in to our room early. The room and balcony were nice, a few spider webs and bugs but that is expected near a jungle. Apart for the pillows outside covered in mold, we set those aside the accommodations were not bad. Now… from using the toilet to washing our hands - we were unable to do any of this on our first day. Glad we had hand sanitizer and wipes because the hotel did not have these available for guest. We had a wonderful lunch. We went on a long hike to the town and got some drinks and water for our room. Not going to pay very marked up when I can get for qtr.. When we returned we had dinner, again the food was great. The water Finally started flowing at 930pm but only for an hour. But, we also noticed the large amount of BLACK MOLD all over the bathroom wall. It was gross and very negligible and also concerning. I got some vinegar and sprayed it as a temp solution during our stay. Over night the power went out due to a storm and so on our second day - no running water, no internet or electricity. The beach amenities are limited.

The lodge itself was really nice, but the lack of maintenance makes it now look old and dirty. The attention was really poor, stayed for 4 days in which coincidentally there was almost no food and we had to eat the same 3-4 dishes every day. Due to summer in Panama the Hotel cuts water and you only get around 4 hours of water per day, which in itself it's fine, totally understadable, however that is not mentionned until you arrive at the property. Talked to customer service on whastapp several times, weeks before going (to arrange the transport to the island) and that wasn't mentionned. Overall dissapointing experience, this was a trip I was looking forward for months. The island itself was good.

"Not worth coming there."

1.0

Nature was beautiful. Design of place was nice.

Service was terrible. No one speaks English. They were not able to make almost any item from the menu because some ingredients were missing. Place was pretty dirty because only 2-3 people were working there. There was water restriction during our 3 nights stay so we had water for maybe 6-7 hours a day. Photo that I posted is Chicken quesadilla Saboga style?!

Really attentive staff and beautiful property. Quiet, private beach. Stayed in the villa, Piedad is an excellent cook and always asking if we need anything. Rustic island life, as long as you know that going in, you'll have a great time!
