The Mitre Inn

Great location, good value and spotlessly clean. The room was well furnished and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious.

A fridge would have been welcome.

Room we were booked into the toilet would not stop flushing, so got moved as the cistern was blocked into fittings so no fixing til next day - staff swapped us and got moved to Blind Jacks room a lot smaller in size and think Blind Jack had done the cleaning - old building but tired, black build around the shower tiles and base, blinds stained, mucky build up on windows, furniture tired, no top up hospitality tray had to ask staff as only 3 tbags for a 2 night stay - just not the best

Comfy bed, good size room, quality furnishings, spotlessly clean, extras (hairdryer, iron, toiletries). My son booked a suite which was fully equipped for a self catering stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, great bar with food and beer garden. Quiet location close to the town centre. Would recommend the Mitre and stay again.

So we stayed here the room was lovely , the bed was a little small , the room was red hot and couldn’t sleep , they did give us a fan but it was so warm in there , we couldn’t get a drink of water after the pub closed and couldn’t get a drink in the morning , no bottles of water in our room and I’m not one to drink water from the bathroom , I can say however it’s in the best spot close to everything , the staff was great and pleasant, we left around 5,30 am in the moring has I needed a drink and it was too hot in the room to sleep so we left and travelled home

Brilliant central location, staff were lovely and friendly. The guy that checked us in and sorted our food order was great. Super comfy bed. Nice little extras in the room and felt cosy and quiet. The food at brew and bao was insanely good.

There’s no parking however is directly next to the train station entrance.

Brilliant staff, nothing was a bother to them, clean, comfortable, ideally situated and good value
